To think I’m too old at 28 to wear crop tops and short dresses

Nothing against anyone the same age that does.

I think you can wear short dresses at any age if you have decent legs.
Cropped tops only really work for the gym or a festival or a party outfit - again as long as you have decent abs. No other occasion I can see cropped tops working at all, although I can see teenagers seem to prefer wearing all the time.

Like Branster I think it depends on the crop top. Festival, Beach, Party, Gym absolutely fine.

Of course you aren't too old! You can wear what you want. But I would base it on whether those styles would suit your body shape. If you have nice legs, go for short skirts/ dresses. As for crop tops, there are quite a variety around. Some are very short, but others end around the waistline so it would be more of an occasional glipse of flesh. I quite like those ones and have a few myself (much older than you!). Unfortunately, I have legs like an elephant, so no shorts skirts for me!

Personally I think rather than simply age it depends on the person’s figure, how they are styled, and whether the outfit is appropriate to the occasion. I wore a short skirt on holiday last week and I’m 35. I’d worked hard in the months prior to tone up and think I looked ok and was appropriate for where we went. Probably wouldn’t wear it in the UK though.

I'm 58 and while crop tops have gone beyond me shorter skirts dresses and shorts absolutely have not . You're in the prime of your youth , wear what you like .

I wear crop tops with high waisted midi skirts/trousers quite often in summer. I’m 36, I look great. I’ve worked bloody hard for this waist.

Not a huge fan of getting my thighs out in the UK mind you, but a short dress/skirt with black tights and boots in Autumn/Winter is such a staple. How can you ever be too old for that??

Your clothes, your choice. If you are uncomfortable then change, if not then carry on wearing them.

Well,it depends where you live. I am currently on holiday in the Mediterranean and shorts skirts and cropped tops seem to be acceptable for any age here at the moment. I am wearing clothes that I definitely would feel ridiculous in , in the UK. I am much older than you, with a figure that only my family could love.

I’m mid 30s and still wear that sort of stuff and will do until the day I don’t like my reflection in them. Or if I lose confidence. There is no dress code based on age. Clothes are just fabric at the end of the day. Wear what that hell you like

Wear what you want, when you want … ignoring these odd societal rules about what is / isn’t acceptable at a certain age.

Nobody else cares. If they are your clothes, and you can physically get into them, then you can wear them. All the rest is convention and judgement.

Unless, of course, you are doing lab work or handling battery acid or something, in which case cover up before you do yourself an injury.

no wonder some women and girls have such unhealthy and unrealistic ideas about what their bodies ‘should’ look like and what they shouldn’t be wearing.

wear what you want. There is no age limit or dress size cut-off or perception of ‘decent’ body parts that make one garment more or less acceptable than another.

If you've nothing against it why are you asking ? Either you want to wear them (then you should) or you are judging people who do (which you shouldn't).

I think crop tops are fine with high waisted stuff much much MUCH later than your twenties.

Crop tops yes , shorts/ skirts/ dresses no you're not too old . Crop tops are a thing for teens really imo and look ridiculous on adults

I’m 42, size 6/8 and I wear crop tops with high waisted trousers/skirts. They are not just for teens if you style them well.

Didn't know there was an age limit on crop tops ! This is pretty much my day to day style if I'm not working and i'm 35! (I took this pic to show someone this lovely top from my favourite shop, I'm not a selfie addict)
