PJs that don’t scrunch up in your arse crack in the night

Apologies for the crude title but please please please can someone recommend pjs that you don’t spend the night dragging out of your arse crack while half asleep. There is NOTHING WORSE, but I have failed to find any decent ones, EVER.

I’m early 50s, so unfortunately not the svelt nymph I used to be before 3 DS and 1,000 packets of tayto.

Sympathies!

Night shirt instead?

Bigger size? Or at least a looser waistband?

DaftyLass · 14/07/2023 21:07

I buy leggings, and cut them off just above the knee.
My thighs never touch in the night; my arse is left alone, unweggied

BCBird · 14/07/2023 21:08

Ha ha. Your title made me laugh😁can't you just take the bottoms off when you get in bed or consider a nighty instead?

Hullabalooza · 14/07/2023 21:08

Wear grannie knickers underneath?

Whatevs99 · 14/07/2023 21:09

Nightshirts are an option for sure, but in winter I just long for those pjs to keep the 50 year old arthritic ankles warm in a cold kitchen first thing.

I buy nightwear 3 sizes too big. Doesn't everyone?

eosmum · 14/07/2023 21:10

Big knickers.

Notahugger2023 · 14/07/2023 21:11

Are you tall OP? I’m 5’10 and I find this happens to me when the pj bottoms don’t have enough crotch length or when they’re like a rigid cotton rather than a stretchy cotton if that makes sense.

Notahugger2023 · 14/07/2023 21:11

Also agree I buy pyjamas a size bigger than my day time clothes.

PinkFootstool · 14/07/2023 21:12

Primark ones are actually my best ones this year - limited effects on your crack but because I like vest tops for bed, they are appalling for boobs falling out of armholes etc. Very long in the leg which is greatly appreciated as well!

Monsoon and M&S sets were both a waste of (a lot of) money.

CatchCatchThePigeon · 14/07/2023 21:12

Happens to me and I'm 5 ft 6

I honestly think I turned 50 and my arse crack turned into a clothes hoover

Findyourneutralspace · 14/07/2023 21:13

I hate anything on my legs at night so it’s nighties or knickers and vest for me, but I have a selection of lovely PJs that I put on when I get up or out of the bath for hanging round in.

Just ditch the PJ bottoms in bed.

TorrentiallyCalamitous · 14/07/2023 21:13

Cyberjammies.

Whatevs99 · 14/07/2023 21:14

@Notahugger2023 yes, I used to be 5’9 3/4, but have sadly lost 1/2” due to old age. It’s the waist/crotch distance deficit is the problem, I fear.

OP posts:
Nanny0gg · 14/07/2023 21:15

Same problem

I hate nighties though as they end up round your waist.

Whatevs99 · 14/07/2023 21:15

@PinkFootstool a LOL at the boob out of armhole image. Bad enough with the crack problem with adding that to the mix.

So pull on pj bottoms before you go to the kitchen? I never sleep with pj bottoms but I have loads of pairs for slobbing around in in winter. I can’t abide anything wrapped round my legs in bed.

HedgesNotFences · 14/07/2023 21:16

Wear pants.

Gerrataere · 14/07/2023 21:17

I only find leggings and a nighty/oversized shirt comfortable. Actually that’s a lie, when going to sleep I can’t stand a scratch on me unless it’s the very depth of winter, in which case the nighty/T stays. But anytime I’m at home, it’s the former. Uber delivery can just deal 😂

Whatevs99 · 14/07/2023 21:19

I don’t like pants tbh. Might get DH too excited on a regular basis. Am a bit old for that lark on too frequently, d’ya get my drift.

looking for brand recommendations. Agreed M&S is tripe. What about silky ones maybe?

OP posts:
bellac11 · 14/07/2023 21:21

No I never wear 'bottoms' in bed for this very reason. Tops only and then in the morning put on a bottom half

I might wear the odd pair of knickers if on period, like the next few days. I end up quite sore and itchy and like you say OP with it all up my bum. Hate it.

Findyourneutralspace · 14/07/2023 21:21

If you definitely want to wear jim jams in bed, buy them a size or two bigger.

Iwishmynamewassheilah · 14/07/2023 21:21

I’ve got a lovely very old pair from boden which are too big for me. I seem to be able to sleep and sort of move around inside them at night. I’d buy five more pairs if they still sold them.

Tilllly · 14/07/2023 21:22

M&S work for me

Lovely PJs

rockingbird · 14/07/2023 21:23

Am I the only one sleeping naked 🫣
