PJs that don’t scrunch up in your arse crack in the night

Apologies for the crude title but please please please can someone recommend pjs that you don’t spend the night dragging out of your arse crack while half asleep. There is NOTHING WORSE, but I have failed to find any decent ones, EVER.

I’m early 50s, so unfortunately not the svelt nymph I used to be before 3 DS and 1,000 packets of tayto.

Nightshirts are an option for sure, but in winter I just long for those pjs to keep the 50 year old arthritic ankles warm in a cold kitchen first thing.

I just slip my pj bottoms on when i get up in the morning.

PurpleParrotfish · 14/07/2023 21:24

Would you try leggings? Stretchy so reasonably comfortable and no arse migration.

Clavinova · 14/07/2023 21:25

Cyberjammies

I have these as well. Slightly silky feel to them - lovely.

I wear a night shirt but have pj bottoms that i put on when I get up to make a cup of tea... win win!

Googling cyberjammies as we speak, so to speak

Cyberjammies and lands end are comfy but saying that, I can’t cope with pjs anymore. I wear nighties and through on yoga trousers in the mornings and evenings.

neilyoungismyhero · 14/07/2023 21:30

Just ordinary knickers for me.

roseblooming · 14/07/2023 21:31

The issue is pyjama bottoms usually have a centre seam running down the arse crack and up the front so they join two identical side pieces together. Whereas knickers don't have this which is why they are more comfy.

I have "women's" boxer shorts with longer legs because they don't have that centre seam and unlike men's boxers I have no need for the extra material at the front that men need and they look ridiculous on me.

They are almost like a pair of knickers in design with extra material to the sides. I don't know about longer length ones than this but this is what I wear in bed. https://www.amazon.co.uk/wirarpa-Chafing-Boyshort-Leggings-Multicoloured/dp/B09Z66TG5Z

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 14/07/2023 21:35

Oversized cotton jammies. But with a drawstring waist, so they don't fall down. I find the jersey, modal style ones are more likely to migrate to your crack!

Whatevs99 · 14/07/2023 21:35

@roseblooming I get it with the seam. And thank you for the link. Those look amazing. The teenage DS’s will love me in those in the mornings. I’m buying!

Lovely long nighties from Land's End, that's the answer. Supima cotton. Several different styles. Oh, and possibly bedsocks.

shitafrick · 14/07/2023 22:08

Came onto this thread genuinely thinking all the answers were going to be questioning what on earth you were on about, as I was. But quite the opposite 😅

Wonder why have I not experienced this. My arse is quite sizeable too. It's a mystery.

Curledupwithabook · 14/07/2023 22:12

Glad you've found an option, another option would be buying cheap harem style yoga pants. Not the modern leggings style yoga pants, but the brightly coloured hippy trousers that usually have elephants or similar on them. They're usually made of thin cotton & have a high elasticated waist so they work really well as PJ's!

fishonabicycle · 14/07/2023 22:17

I wear pants and vest, and put pyjama leggings on when I get up/before I go to bed.

Niftyswiftie · 14/07/2023 22:18

I've never had pyjamas up my bum crack, I just can't sleep with material swirling around my legs making me feel tangled. I sleep in a t shirt and thong.

Daffodilgrass · 14/07/2023 22:21

OP Are you in Ireland (TAYTO reference)? My favourite ever pair were cheap ones from Dunnes, which got softer and looser until they finally disintegrated. Now I live in England I mourn them nightly.

Rainbow1612 · 14/07/2023 22:31

Sleep naked. Problem solved!

I hate the feeling of any clothes on in bed. I have pjs/nighties for lounging around in but always take off before bed.

Thongs won't solve the 'up the arse crack' situation 😂

rockingbird · 14/07/2023 21:23

Am I the only one sleeping naked 🫣

I sleep naked. I have no idea how people can sleep wearing clothes - it feels all kinds of wrong to me.

londonrach · 15/07/2023 06:27

Wear pants

unsync · 15/07/2023 07:06

Lands End. Brushed cotton drawstring trousers with long sleeved t-shirt. Also, brushed cotton nightshirt, mix and match.

Badbudgeter · 15/07/2023 07:17

I wear mens pjs bottoms and don’t have this issue. I just buy a plain black/ grey cotton 2 pack from Tesco I think it’s £18 or something.

Ultravox · 15/07/2023 07:20

I wear my husband’s M&S autograph jersey trunks. Never found any woman’s PJs that come close to the softness and arsecrack avoidance of them!
