…ok, but what’s in your Meal Deal though?

All this talk of meal deals is making me hungry. Bloody love a meal deal. What’s your combo?

Mine is:

• cheese and onion sandwich
• small tub of Pringles
• innocent berry smoothie or Diet Coke or coconut water

Sandwich can be substituted for a tuna and sweetcorn one, but I’m in a real cheese and onion phase at the moment. Crisps can be sea salt and balsamic vinegar kettle chips or Squares depending on mood, but Pringles are speaking to me the most currently.

What’s in yours?

I think I've only ever had a Boots one. I don't like sandwiches, so I've never really been tempted by them. I seem to remember it was:

Pesto pasta
Dark chocolate & raspberry marshmallow
Orange juice

From Co-op Sushi tray (Not proper sushi but really nice) Eggs and mustard mayo, the biggest water,

from Tesco cheese savoury, Walkers cheese and onion crisps, big water

• Tuna crunch sub sandwich
• McCoy's salt & vinegar crisps
• Innocent Smoothies' Bolt from the Blue

Ham and cheese or chicken and stuffing (small coop so range very limited and for some reason loads of options with that dreadful smoked flabby bacon)

Large can of red bull
little pack of chicken tikka and mango dip

Morrisons vegan sushi, onion bhajis as the "snack" or a nice fruit pot, and a Diet Coke or Starbucks vegan latte as the drink.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich
Melon pot or mini sushi
Chocolate milk or cloudy apple juice

BLT on wholemeal bread, ready salted ( I know 🙄) and a coke, NOT diet.

Tuna & cucumber or cheese & onion or chicken, bacon & lettuce sandwich

Salt & vinegar crisps (Squares or regular Walkers)

Ribena Light or flavoured water

BLT
Salt and vinegar discos
Sparkling water

Feta and sun dried tomato pasta or bean and cheese wrap
Ready salted baked crisps
Coffee/iced coffee depending on supermarket

Southern fried chicken wrap
Pineapple pot
Lucozade original or Sprite

Also, because a meal deal doesn't fill me up (maybe I'm just greedy 🤣) a packet of crisps (usually salt&vinegar squares or pickled onion monster munch) and sometimes a chocolate too (usually a Kinder bar)

Tuna cucumber sandwich
Peperami + cheddar cubes snack pot
Pepsi Max

Cheese salad wrap or sandwich.
Fruit.
Diet coke or sugar free red bull.

Not the healthiest, but it's hardly crack.

In Sainsburys...

Vegan BLT or Mozzarella and Pesto Wrap
Apple and grapes in square pot with the longest date code (obsessive about this - only supermarket ones that don't have weird tasting grapes!)
Or
The little Lindt bar with whole hazelnuts in blue wrapper - luxury!
Costa coffee from machine.

If early morning might swap apples/choc for a croissant (instant breakfast !).....then buy a loose banana to boost the sandwich lunch for later.

Great value on a road trip!

I only get one every now and again but it is always a vegetarian/vegan sandwich with a yoghurts and a coffee

Morrisons meal deals are by far the best. I get a salad bar, chicken satays and a Pepsi max or they sometimes have a box where you get a full cooked smoked salmon fillet, new potatoes, some sort of leaves and beetroot. All for £3.50 and that’s not even unhealthy! It’ll be so annoying if they have to stop offering this as it feels like a real treat.

If not in Morrisons, I’ll either get a sushi box, prawn sandwich or smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich.

I don't get meal deals often but I try to choose the highest value single items for vfm. Not healthy or low cal but I only get them a couple of times a year.
