thread]] it’s been a while, but I thought I should update! The original thread is in Classics and ran to three with a happy ending.

I just wanted to tell you that the fields are now part of a conservation project to reintroduce Lapwing, and they are bloody marvellous! They were also our haven in 2020 when we could just hide away from the world - there are advantages to living in the middle of nowhere.

MN had probably changed so much that posting that it worked out buying a near- derelict house in the middle of nowhere is an act of privilege, and I’m now in agreement. I am so fucking privileged to be where I am with the family I have, and the world I have created, and there was luck and awfulness along the way.

Probably not relevant to most people, but I think we’re coming up to the 10 year anniversary if we haven’t passed it, and I am so grateful to all of you vipers for being who you were back then.

Thank you! Funnily enough I have never read the threads back as it was just such an awful time. Since then I have come across several people who had dealings with the difficult human involved in it all - all of whom were ripped off and left poorer for the interaction.

I remember being so worried about being new to the area, but so often local people already know who the cheeky fuckers are, and don’t judge you.

it makes me really sad remembering how much I questioned the expressing my needs back then. For anyone who is struggling, things do get better if you advocate for yourself.
