With compensation added to it for the stress.

There are people who are STILL going through the courts and being fined for breaching Covid rules.

Tories drink, dance and laugh at Covid rules in first ever Partygate video

The Conservatives face the threat of a new police probe as an exclusive video shows officials joking about their rule-bending Christmas bash at the party's headquarters in London during lockdown

Yes and a bloody formal apology for all the families that were parted from their dying loved ones in hospital, not that it will ever ever be ok. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of not being able to sit with your dying loved one in hospital / a care home. We all know the tories are despicable but they are literally laughing in our faces here.

FeltCarrot · 19/06/2023 15:13

I agree. Each and everyone of them should be names, shames and fined.

FeltCarrot · 19/06/2023 15:13
  • named and shamed.
BodgerLovesMashedPotato · 19/06/2023 15:15

YANBU.

Harping · 19/06/2023 15:15

Agree, this is truly awful

ODFODeary · 19/06/2023 15:16

It's disgusting if they're not fined

thebellagio · 19/06/2023 15:16

What pisses me off is that there was an actual invitation. This was a pre-meditated, planned gathering. Not the impromptu gatherings that Boris tried to claim.

But I'm also annoyed that someone sat on that video for three years.

lastminutewednesday · 19/06/2023 15:18

Agreed.
Students getting fined 10 bloody grand. Derbyshire police fining people they caught with drones. (In fact all the money in police time all that took-all of that should be rescinded to the police forces to be put to use actually fighting crimes FFS).
Old people fined for going to an allotment....

It's just shameful.

randomchap · 19/06/2023 15:20

The two dancing were given honours in Johnson's resignation honours list.

AutumnCrow · 19/06/2023 15:27

It's all just fucking disgusting.

When I first saw that video I thought it was fake or a re-anactment because it's just so awkward and desultory with shit dancing, awful dress sense, inane chit-chat and a general air of self-conscious stupidity.

But it's real, isn't it?

Upsizer · 19/06/2023 15:29

The fact these people were given honours makes me feel sick.

Sunak should be ashamed of himself for letting Johnson’s list go through.

This country is run by crooks and we just stand by.

Yes, it is disgraceful. Mocking the people who genuinely suffered under Covid restrictions and who were fined for minor infractions.

JenniferBooth · 19/06/2023 15:51

Meanwhile the cunts were deciding to put most of London and Essex into tier 4 A lockdown in all but name. They called it tier 4 because they didnt want to call it a lockdown

Unfortunately, the government have always been ' do as I say, not as I do ' They're incapable of practicing what they preach.
People being fined for sitting down for a breather in the middle of a walk.
People unable to give their colleague a lift to and from work, despite being in close proximity with each other once there and fined if they did so.
Submariners being fined for having a few drinks together on the top of their submarine, while still at sea, despite spending months under the sea literally on top of one another.
People like my sister in law, who visits her son in his care home daily, but could only do so while stood huddled under an umbrella in the freezing rain outside his bedroom window.
But worse, much worse, are those who were unable to offer comfort to their dying loved ones, then further unable to offer comfort to the bereaved at the funeral.
Even the Queen couldn't be offered comfort at the funeral of her own husband by her children....while just the night before, BoJo and his cronies partied on.
So yes, those who were fined should have their fines repaid and their convictions quashed, while the biggest criminals of all should have the book thrown at them.
And those busybodies whose fingers just itched to report people should hang their heads in shame.

What would you like people to do? What do you mean by stand by? People, me included, are furious and aghast by it all but what can we do right this minute that will have even the slightest impact? What are you personally doing?

Youknowaboutthepaint · 19/06/2023 15:56

That was DH's last Christmas and he couldn't see anyone except those who lived in the same house.

Then he went into hospital in terrible pain and didn't see anyone at all for 3 months. When he came home (to die) he was not at all the man his children had waved off 3months earlier.

To say everyone, he, me and especially DC suffered trauma, that continues to affect everyday life for DC, as a result is not at all overstating it.

The idea that there are politicians trying to argue that the penalty for Johnson is too severe and that some of those involved have been awarded honours, doesn't make me angry, it makes me weep, that we're run by people who think that's OK.

Don’t worry, at some point before January 2025 people will have the opportunity to go to the ballot box again to vote Tory on the basis that “they’re the least worst option” or “Kier Starmer is a bit dull” or the Labour government two decades ago did something they didn’t like.

Is Dorries right that MP's who support the report will be punished by "the party"? Are there really party members still supporting Johnson? Ministers certainly seem to think so, judging by the numbers refusing to confirm they'll be there for a vote.

Yes, it will happen too.
