With compensation added to it for the stress.

There are people who are STILL going through the courts and being fined for breaching Covid rules.

Tories drink, dance and laugh at Covid rules in first ever Partygate video

The Conservatives face the threat of a new police probe as an exclusive video shows officials joking about their rule-bending Christmas bash at the party's headquarters in London during lockdown

I'm so glad you can shrug because I've had 2 years to get over not seeing dying DH for 3 months why the people who made those rules were partying.

Maybe I haven't done it right because I've spent so much time and energy trying to support barely functioning traumatised DC.

And not they haven't been punished. Many not at all, those who had fines were entirely insignificant in realtion to the crime (breaking rules they were imposing on the rest of us) and some have been given bloody honours since.

Fuck off with your shrugging.

im truly sorry for your loss
I thought it was all done and dusted it appears I was wrong and for that I apologise again
the only thing I would question is why whoever had this video took so long to put it out surely it would have made better evidence at the time as the police were at a loss to prove anything

Don’t worry, at some point before January 2025 people will have the opportunity to go to the ballot box again to vote Tory on the basis that “they’re the least worst option” or “Kier Starmer is a bit dull” or the Labour government two decades ago did something they didn’t like.

Yep.

The two dancing were given honours in Johnson's resignation honours list.

It wasn’t those two. It was the bloke I. Braces and the bloke who organised the party (not filmed).

It's not just about this video. It's about multiple breaches, constant lies and denials and complete disdain for they people they're supposed to be serving, the people with stories like the ones shared here.

And on top of that we have people like you telling us we should just get over it because a few of them have paid a very small fine. They're still in government, they're still taking tax payers money, they're still making laws, they're still getting honours, they still apparently have support from people who think we should all move on.

@Upsizer Im a lifetime Labour voter who will never vote for them again after their calling for longer harder harsher lockdowns.

Ive never voted Tory and never will. Its not one or the other for me.

They didn’t do that though. They called for earlier lockdowns, which international experience shows would be shorter. The6 on,y called for longer after Tories fucked yo and then intended to open up before it was safe.
Tories are the worst possible option, whether you are considering how the pandemic or anything else. Vote for whoever gets or keeps them out in your constituency. Anything else is madness

cardibach · 19/06/2023 20:53

SherbetDips · 19/06/2023 16:19

@SunLover1985 yup it’ll be a cold day in hell before I vote Labour in so Conservative it is.

In what way will this benefit you?
madness. And very, very privileged. How well off you must be to be able to withstand any more of this. Heartless. Careless. Reprehensible.

whatdoidonowffs · 19/06/2023 17:41

wasnt this two and a half years ago and they’ve already been fined/punished ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes it was 2 years ago. No they weren’t fined as, having only seen a still photo (which still showed clear breaches) the Met decided not to investigate this one. They are looking at it again now I believe.

JenniferBooth · 19/06/2023 20:57

Lets hope they dont continue with their two tier policing

What is it about them that makes you want 5 more years?
we’ve had corruption, law breaking, trying to make us an international pariah…which bit of that is worth your vote?

History. They're the most successful political party in the world. You underestimate how much the Tories are loved in England. Maybe not right now.

There really is no hope. They're successful because they've managed to persuade the turkeys to vote for Christmas. There's nothing sensible in you answer at all. You'll vote for them because you always have, despite the proof of all the harm they've done, all the corruption, the economic disaster when Truss did exactly what she said she'd done and that the party voted for because some rich people got much richer as a resultn while the vast majority came close to ruin etc etc. But history? History like that?

QueenoftheNimbleFlyingCat · 19/06/2023 18:59

Blimey, this made me sob. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Bloody hell - that should just be a political ad for the next election. How fucking sad.

MayThe4th · 19/06/2023 21:26

But still why hasn’t this video been put out there until now?

Whoever held on to it until now also needs to be brought to account.

As for the next election, I actually think the Tories will win. Not because I think people will vote for them, but because those people won’t vote labour. So labour won’t gain the votes which the tories lose, and so the tories will still end up with the majority.

I have never and will never vote conservative. But I refuse to vote labour just so that the tories don’t get in. I’d rather spoil my ballot.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 19/06/2023 21:27

Maybe because it was taken by someone at the party? 😆

JenniferBooth · 19/06/2023 21:30

"But still why hasn’t this video been put out there until now"

Well it was filmed in the middle of December 2020 so could have been leaked five days later when Boris and Chums said we couldnt see our families or NYD 2021 but then it would have interfered with public compliance. I can only conclude from this that the leaker is pro lockdown

Why it hasnt been leaked between 2021 and now? Maybe the Tories want out so someone else can clear up their mess

OP posts:
HotPenguin · 19/06/2023 21:37

I would guess the person filming the video is pro Sunak and anti Boris. Even though the video has nothing to do with Boris it has hugely affected the tone of the debate, as many Conservative MPs wanted to shrug off the partygate report and say it's old news, but now they can't.

The video is absolutely galling for people who observed the rules. I'm mad as hell that my son didn't get a 4th birthday party while those bastards were dancing about in their Xmas jumpers. I can't imagine how angry the families of those who died alone in hospitals and care homes must be.

Kendodd · 19/06/2023 21:55

Personally I'm more pissed off about the millions in public money their mates made out of covid. They must have been cracking open the champagne over it. That lot in the video look like they had a brilliant pandemic, what was it Johnson gave them honors for? Anyone know?

Kendodd · 19/06/2023 22:17

That party looked shit as well.

I don’t think the Tories wanted or particularly believed in any sort of lockdown. No way do I think they’d prioritise saving people’s lives or preserving the NHS over the economy. I think they left lockdown too late for it to have a worthwhile impact. They then just did what the rest of Europe were doing, but in a confused and tiery way. They wanted to be Sweden. That’s why they partied through it.
Scientifically, I think lockdowns to stop the spread of an uncontrollable and deadly virus can work (Ebola in Africa). But quickly, decisively and as a short term measure until the virus is under control.

LlynTegid · 20/06/2023 15:16

I'd be content with corporate manslaughter charges against Boris Johnson for his actions and inactions in 2020 that led to at least 20,000 deaths that were avoidable.

If Jeremy Hunt had become Prime Minister, or indeed Michael Gove or the other leadership candidates, I am certain they would have acted quicker.
