Don't look at the Daily Mail comments

"Remember his great artistic talent and his unfortunate personal life" AngryAngryAngry

Total bastard - burn, fucker, burn 🔥

NooNooHead1981 · 23/05/2023 14:19

Horrible, wicked man. Horrible way to die, too. Oh well. 😳🤬

blacksax · 23/05/2023 14:19

Good riddance.

LlynTegid · 23/05/2023 14:21

I hope as others have mentioned it is some closure for the victims.

Hohohogreenjennie · 23/05/2023 14:22

Sky News say he died on the 10th May.

willWillSmithsmith · 23/05/2023 14:23

That’s twice today I’ve said YES! as if I’m watching a sporting match. First PH losing his security case and now this. (I’m not putting them in the same category before anyone starts).

At this moment in time, 19% find the OP is being unreasonable. I wonder why they feel that? He was convicted. Of more than 1 sexual assault. Over years and years. ON CHILDREN.

wow.

Probably because they think resting in piss is too good for him.

MmaRra · 23/05/2023 14:24

To anyone feeling taken in by Harris et al: Obvious monsters rarely get close to children and their parents and carers. Monsters who are highly devious good actors do.

As with the other person in the headlines at the moment, we also need to focus on those around them who enable them.

Sky News say he died on the 10th May.

Maybe his family kept it back so they could have the funeral without any aggro and then come to terms with it themselves before the less than effusive obituaries get published.

TroysMammy · 23/05/2023 14:25

He ruined the memories he had of my childhood and then my rabbit who I named after him in 1998.

WickedSerious · 23/05/2023 14:27

I'm another one who thought he died years ago.

Sky News say he died on the 10th May.

Yes, I don't think there was an announcement at the time. Confirmation seems to have come via a direct question asked of the records office following rumours and activity at his home.

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2023 14:30

I've only seen a little bit of the documentary on ITV x , but one of his young victims did tell him to F off when he tried it on with her in a car. it did take her years to get over what happened to her when she trusted him so much:(
I hope his death brings closure to those poor girls he attacked. Some of it in plain sight too.
Such an utter creep. He even made short films for children about being the victim of abuse and how to say no etc.
Unbelievable that he got away with it for so long too.

Jux · 23/05/2023 14:30

I was thinking about him only 2 or 3 days ago and checked to see if he was still alive, so I hope my thoughts winged his way and sped him on.

Though I hope he's not in Hell. I hope he's nowhere at all.

OilyHomer · 23/05/2023 13:33

Him and Saville are hopefully riding a Horse For Two through Hell

Me too. It was particularly despicable that he fronted the NSPCC's campaign for child safety. Hiding in plain sight. (another paedophile with connections to the Royal family & senior politicians) He should have died in prison. No remorse - he wrote a song in jail about 'wenches' being after his money. Like his daughter's 13 year old best friend, according to him. Disgusting 'man'.

peachespeachespeaches · 23/05/2023 14:33

Some death are cause for celebration 🥳

Collidascope · 23/05/2023 13:27

I just got an alert about it and was surprised as I thought he'd died ages ago. Think I must have confused him with Max Clifford or Stuart Hall.

Me too. I am sure he dies a couple of years ago !

GoodChat · 23/05/2023 13:32

It's about bloody time. Shame he went surrounded by friends and family rather than rotting in a jail cell like he belonged.

Quite.

Good riddance.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 23/05/2023 14:37

I'm glad he knew how much the public hated him. Saville never knew.

I used to like Rolf Harris when I was young, used to like his art programme but everything about that is tainted and spoiled. He used to be like everybody's grandfather and that's probably why it was so shocking.

Now Saville, was always weird and creepy. It was only TV elders and betters who kept brainwashing the public into thinking he was great. He was charmless but so clever and deceitful.

ProtestantsHateAbba · 23/05/2023 14:38

I’m a bit perplexed by comments like “he was so beloved/talented, such a shame he threw all that away”.

He was a sexual predator. He presumably thought he’d get away with abusing children because he felt he was untouchable. It’s not a shame he “threw his talent away”. It’s a shame he did what he did in the first place and hurt people (children) and let many other people down who believed he was good. But mostly a shame he was a nonce.

LakeTiticaca · 23/05/2023 14:38

I always thought Jimmy Savile was dodgy but I was shocked when Rolf Harris was exposed. He always came across as a good all round entertainer. Just shows you never know what some folk are really like. Good riddance hope he rots in hell

It's possible to be both. Naturally, one takes precedence when it comes to light but there are some vile people in prison who also did have real talent, eg. Gary Glitter.

I don't believe that people are ever really just one thing - except for this, peadophilia. Nothing else will ever be relevant or matter, just that and there is no excuse or redemption possible for it.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 23/05/2023 14:42

... and the sooner the public stops putting celebrities on pedestals, rather than treating them as human beings with flaws, the better.

I can remember the idolising of Philip Schofield on here and then he 'came out' and that was that. Before then, golden balls.

I could not agree more.

Re: the child abuse adverts. I've always wondered if he was trying to justify his actions in his own head. "Kids can say no"- so if they don't fight hard enough, they're fair game 🤢🤢🤢🤢
