Dogs peeing on car tyres

Put on AIBU for traffic-
need some advice-
how do I word a message to put on road WhatsApp group?
basically- we have 2 cars- one on drive one outside our hedge on road
daily approx 2-3 times a day- someone is letting their dog pee on the car tyres.
firstly- disgusting. Why??? Just why??? Secondly there are bushes, verges and trees all along the road!
I am sick of cleaning it constantly now.
we have a child with severe contact anaphylactic allergies- we don’t even use that car unless it’s myself or hubby using it alone.
I don’t know who it is that’s doing it.
so wanted to compose a message to put on the road WhatsApp group that doesn’t come across as a doormat or being bitchy either.

Can only suggest using a repellent spray around the car area or vinegar on the ground nearby or a strong smell that they don't like to deter them.

@ejbaxa thank you, exactly my point, one offs ok fair enough- but daily 2-3 times a day- especially when I’ve even washed the car!

How do you even know that a dog is peeing on your tyres three times a day? Are you always going out and checking for new pee? You do know that the roads are covered in pee and poop from wildlife and goodness knows what else and you are driving through it all the time.

Probably more than one dog - once one dog pees somewhere, other dogs want to do the same. It's only the tyre, it probably goes through piss, rubbish and roadkill residue quite regularly. Your child will be fine, they shouldn't be mucking round with filthy tyres anyway.

I don't think the OP is being ridiculous given that it is several times a day! That means, permanently soaked in piss which may be acidic and corrode metal parts.

If it was a one off, then it's no big deal. What a lazy, disrespectful society we live in - many think it's ok to continually let their dog piss over someone's property like this. I wouldn't let my dog do it - not even once.

Dogs just pee randomly, I don't think someone is purposefully 'letting' their dog pee on your car.
You can purposefully stop it though - if you know your dog will wee against cars then keep him on a short lead as you pass them.

That would annoy me too OP - smelly and not good for the paintwork (and I love dogs and have one).

Imagine someone let a child do that? I find it astonishing that people think it's ok for their dog to cock it's leg and piss anywhere it feels like it. You might love dogs, not everyone does, especially not their piss and shit.

It's not hard to stop your dog from peeing on other people's property. If it was, dogs wouldn't be so popular.
Op, stick a little sign on your car at the dog's eye level, saying 'No peeing, please'. The owner will see it. It's humourful, and if they're decent, they'll respect it. If they're not, it's a lost cause anyway.

I wouldn’t let my dog cock it’s leg up against someone’s car, wall, house etc. A bush or tree is better, the former is just a bit gross and I think a bit unneighbourly. I have been walking with a friend who I would say is a good sane person, and she let her dog wee against someone’s wall while they were watching! I was mortified. Can you see it after it’s dried? I know it’s gross, but I think one of those things, at least it’s not a person weeing or being sick.

Apparently a taxi driver can wee up against his back wheel, but would you in a domestic area? No.

I’m not sure how you can mention it though, except in causal conversation about muck on cars which may only have the right note in 6 -12 months time.

Really sorry you are getting such a hard time on here @whyareallthegoodonesgone ! Some people are so rude. Also slightly confused why people wouldn't be bothered by dog piss all over their belongings?! Bizarre!!

Anyway to answer your question- I would go with something along the lines of 'hi everyone, really sorry to bother you with this and about to sound completely paranoid - but has anyone had any issue with dogs being walked on the street peeing on their car? This seems to be happening to our car on a daily basis and aside from being a bit grim is starting to affect our hubcaps/paint! Just wondered if it is just us or if other people have the same issue - I'm starting to wonder if I have offended someone 🤣🤣'

Keep it light hearted and non-accusatory hopefully you will get some horrified responses and people will either keep an eye out or the person responsible will stop!
