To be sixk of Rishi Sunak and his money making

Viviennemary · 17/04/2023 23:48

Haven't Sunak and his wife got enough money without trying to rake in even more more by his wife investing in some child education scheme which benefits from the recent budget. He is now to be investigated for not declaring it what greed. Makes me sick. What is the matter with these people and obsession with wanting even more money to add to the billions they have already got,

Wrong again.

It really is getting desperate over there, isn’t it?

I wouldn't say so - Labour's lead is narrowing.
New poll out yesterday;

BritainElects
Westminster voting intention:
LAB: 44% (-)
CON: 32% (+2)
LDEM: 10% (-)

They have a combined net worth of approximately £720 million. Why is he interested in doing a job that pays a paltry (by comparison) £165,000 a year? I'm going to guess that access to contracts and contacts is why.

This. Why is his wife interested in a small childcare business. The mind boggles

CalistoNoSolo · 18/04/2023 20:43

I see Clavinova has emerged from whatever hole (s)he/it lives in to attempt to defend the indefensible. Or is it just to derail the thread so govt bad press doesn't get discussed.

Yes - in a Redfield and Wilton poll exactly 6 months ago, Labour were 36 points ahead - yesterday only 12 points. There's at least a year to go until the next general election.

Hmmm, I’m not sure the ‘Child care business’ is small though. I started working for an import/export dept in a bank based in London back in the early Nineties, one of our clients who was originally importing T shirts/sweatshirts to the UK for further processing (appliqué/logo etc) suddenly moved into Care Home financing. It seemed weird at the time but now makes perfect sense. Every human need is a business prospect for someone.

If it’s so easy find an example and post it.

There's a strong suggestion that "some" ministers get rewarded by highly paid "consulting" jobs after they've left office as a promise in return for decisions they made which benefitted their new "employer" during their term in office!

Exactly. None of it is unconnected or coincidental. It’s the catalyst.

You look - October 2022, July 2021.

Nope Clav. If you’ve found I ever said it, post it.

Thesharkradar · 18/04/2023 21:45

Why is he interested in doing a job that pays a paltry .....
as per pps, he has his eyes on the prize but the pay is just small change for him. The real prize lies behind the doors that can be opened, the further opportunities to enrich himself, the power which his position confers enabling him to do favours for other wealthy people, pass laws which help his rich friends and associates who will then smooth the way for him and his in the future.

Have you seen this by the way?
Jeremy Corbyn accuses Keir Starmer of ‘primary school stuff’

Sir Keir Starmer has denied he was ever a friend of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, despite previously describing him as one.

I don’t need to check. It’s a term I never use. As you well know or you’d be eager to copy and paste the evidence. More whataboutery I see. Isn’t it time you went out?

I wouldn’t mind if he could make money for the country.

I don’t think it's right that he lines his pockets

I'm not eager to copy and paste the evidence because the last time I quoted directly from a previous thread my post was deleted, as you probably know.
