It’s just quite odd…all this with Philip Schofield, then Alison Hammond was brought in, talk of blackmail in the news and she’s not on this week anymore…what on earth goes on over there 🤷🏻‍♀️

Didnt Gino go to prison for the burglary? I seem to remember that Paul Youngs wife had just died and he didn't get things back that were personal to her
What sort of message is all this sending?
There must be hundreds if not thousands of talented people who can cook/present TM that don't have a dodgy past or are trying to sweep things under the carpet
These are not minor offences, they've had a serious impact on people's lives

I think you're getting your dates mixed up?

Gino committed the burglary 25 years ago and went to prison for it. He later apologised to Paul Young, I believe Paul got most of his things back.

Stacey Young died 5 years ago.

So there was a big time difference between the burglary & Stacey's death.

Friends tell me that The HW and DB marriage is all about the money. She will stick it out to the bitter end because hubby wants it that way.
It is time the TM programme was either shelved or they find more relatable presenters.
Nobody I know watches TM anymore. I like Steph's Packed Lunch but not so much now since they included Denise Van Outen. She's very hard faced and hard to watch

Interesting about their marriage.

I agree with you about Denise now being hard to watch, she was good in her BB days but even on Celeb Gogglebox with that complete tool of her ex, she was hard to watch!

Yes, Gino burgled Paul Young's house and stole his guitars to flog.

They were both on the show together a couple of years ago. Gino cooking. Paul being interviewed.

Awkward 🤣

Mustn't forget Madely forgetting to pay for his trolley full of wine!

Re the wine story - I feel sorry for Richard every time someone drags this up. It was a strange set up in our Tesco and Waitrose way back when as the shop and booze shop were separate with different tills but you could take your trolley from one to the other. I imagine several others committed the same “offence” through oversight. I miss the R&J days, haven’t watched for years.

GlassBunion · 29/03/2023 12:36

I agree with others who say that This Morning has had its day.

The daytime audience/demographic has changed enormously over the years and it almost harks back to a bygone age.

As to Loose Women , they should have scrapped that when public executions were banned.

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 29/03/2023 12:40

It was the videos of his wife that went off radar and the only items he really wanted back obviously because she died@Summerhouse2013

Stacey Solomon is supposed to represent a certain demographic of woman on there, when she is just a huge fake, I can't stand that woman.

I see....I think Paul Young is a lovely man and obviously very forgiving too....

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 29/03/2023 12:46

Not so sure about the forgiving part @Summerhouse2013

Urgh his accent is so annoying. I dont know any Italians with such a strong accent living in England after a number of years. And the inability to realise an innuendo. He's like Harry Enfield as Stavros.

I know it's only one, but my granny lived in the UK for over 50 years and even when she died aged 90 I often didn't have a clue what she was saying Blush. She didn't lose her accent at all! It wasn't as if she was surrounded by Italians either, my grandad was English.

DarlingG · 28/03/2023 22:52

Totally! Have you seen the morning show? Since watching that I view all these shows in such a different light. They will be having full on meltdowns behind the scenes but on screen they’re all smiles. I didn’t see today’s but what’s the deal with Alison? That did seem very random to announce tonight with a photoshopped picture of Joel dommett in beside holly that he’ll be on tomorrow!

What channel can you watch the morning show on please

countingto10 · 29/03/2023 12:54

I see presenting on a mainstream tv program as a very well paid privilege that many talented people would love the chance to do and therefore the people that have “made it” should really be whiter than white ie no drink driving, no drugs, no grooming of minors etc etc. So that would get rid of a lot of the current crop and give new blood a chance and I, personally, might end up actually watching some programs. Though I have to say, I get the rage with a lot of tv presenters these days (love Sandi Toksvig though)

WeeBitOfWoo · 29/03/2023 12:57

Richard & Judy were journalists and it showed. They asked interesting questions and knew how to steer interviews to get interesting responses. They were also obviously both intelligent people, so despite the ‘fluff’ they were presenting there was some real humour and meaningful comment in amongst the inane nonsense. Richard was a bit domineering, but Judy didn’t take his nonsense. The chemistry was great.

Fern and Ruth were both decent, too (I found Eamon an annoying bore).

Everyone else has been crap.
Phillip - creepy, narcissistic, not funny although obviously thinks he’s hilarious. Holly is just so bland and seems a bit thick. Let’s be honest - has made her career from being very pretty.
Alison is the least bad, but I find her jollity hard going in anything more than small doses.

Rochelle from the Saturdays was a particularly poor period. Gormless!

Phil is the most problematic, though. His ‘coming out’ was dreadfully handled. We all knew he was gay. Nobody cared. It was so obviously an attempt to twist the narrative away from ‘seedy old bloke has been knocking off inappropriately young guys for years’ into ‘stunning and brave gay role model’. It failed. Times up for him.

Reddickyouless · 29/03/2023 13:00

Possibly @Summerhouse2013 , regardless he shouldn't be on TM along with another presenter IMO

Shekissedagirlandshelikedit · 29/03/2023 13:02

Twiggy presented for a while, I think it was the John Leslie days, and she was dreadful.

I loved when Sarah Greene filled in a few times.

Deathraystare · 29/03/2023 13:02

Never watch morning TV. Cannot stand Lorraine. She stood up for her mate John Leslie. Wouldn't have it he had done anything wrong. She MUST have at least heard the rumours?? Also not Holly/Phil/Alison so it seems pointless watching any of them. Ditto Steph (I am a northerner, yeah I know surprise isn't it!).

As for Gino's Grandfathers sauce, didn't he say where he comes from (Sheffield!!!!) never puts onions and garlic in the same dish which seemed weird to me in Italian recipes anyway.

Some people never loose their accents. I hope Fred Syriex never does!!!!

Reddickyouless · 29/03/2023 13:04

Sarah Greene is on here @Shekissedagirlandshelikedit , and I agree , she was/is a really good presenter

whynotwhatknot · 29/03/2023 13:06

is ps actually supporting his brother or they just want him off so itsnot brought up

ReformedWaywardTeen · 29/03/2023 13:06

I think Phillip is off due to the case in court with his brother.

I think the blackmail person may have been her fiancee as she made a point do saying she was single earlier this week.

Also, Joel Dommett was always going in today.

I was more taken aback by the flirting Holly was engaging in with Joel. She was blatant

CheerstoUs · 29/03/2023 13:11

What did they say at the top of the show? Did they even acknowledge that AH had morphed into JD?

CheerstoUs · 29/03/2023 13:11

@ReformedWaywardTeen was she?..

Abyss23 · 29/03/2023 13:17

Richard & Judy were journalists and it showed

Yes I agree with this. They were proper journalists, that made a difference. Nowadays they just pick any old air-headed "celebrity" they think people will put up with. I haven't watched it for many years, it's inane drivel. Agree with the other people who said BBCs morning offerings are better.

Lookingoutside · 29/03/2023 13:34

‘What’s going on with gino?’

He has no idea how to behave and appears to be oblivious to the post Weinstein work environment.

Womencanlift · 29/03/2023 13:35

Genie321 · 29/03/2023 10:39

I cannot stand Alison H.

If you watched her getting pranked on Saturday Night Takeaway a few weeks ago, she really showed how rude she is when she didn't know the cameras were recording her.

PS and the runner boy ...enough said there.

I thought the same watching Alison. It’s happened a few times with that undercover slot… the masks slips. James Corden’s definitely did when he got pranked by Ant and Dec

Someone mentioned The Morning Show. There is a scene in series 1 with Jennifer Anniston in her dressing room with This Morning on in the background. Which is odd considering it’s set in New York so they are unlikely to be watching ITV1.

I read comments at the time that it was an Easter Egg as This Morning, and all it’s scandal, was used partly for inspiration for the show, as well as the Matt Lauer scandal of course which was its main inspiration
