More Magazine- willy of the week?

Hmm, fellow Gen Xers, can you help? I have a vague memory of a magazine, possibly More, having a regular feature mocking an unusual looking penis. Seems unthinkable now but I'm pretty sure this actually happened rather than being some weird fever dream. Anyone remember?

Can't remember that but do remember position of the fortnight

mum2jakie · 23/03/2023 22:32

No I can't remember that either 🤣. They did position of the fortnight which had a line drawing and description but no photos of actual real life willies in More!

MotherFrustration · 23/03/2023 22:33

I remember position of the week/fortnight/month (not sure what it was) I also remember Just Seventeen had Hunk of the week or something like that too.

FrankColumbo · 23/03/2023 22:33

I also remember the position thing but not the willy thing

QueSyrahSyrah · 23/03/2023 22:33

Torso of the week - Yes
Position of the week - Yes
Willy of the week - No

Newpuppymummy · 23/03/2023 22:34

Think I would have remembered Willy of the week. 😂

ExtraOnions · 23/03/2023 22:35

I don’t remember Willy of The Week … and I used to love More “Real Woman Love More” (or whatever the strap line was

Redglitter · 23/03/2023 22:36

I think its been a weird fever dream 😂

Spidey66 · 23/03/2023 22:36

I remember Position of the Fortnight but not a Willy one.

AlisonHalligan · 23/03/2023 22:36

Thanks. There definitely was a Willy one but maybe it wasn’t More. Sky?

I don’t remember it either and I would definitely have remembered seeing willy pictures at the age I was when I read More (there would have been much giggling).

I do remember one article where there were three topless young women with a panel of young men judging and scoring their breasts 😐

FrankColumbo · 23/03/2023 22:37

I remember my boss making me take down my More calendar. Don't think he liked the picture of the naked man holding 2 pineapples (for Libra) for some reason 🤔

SashaPearce · 23/03/2023 22:38

It’s so rare for male full-frontal nudity to be shown on TV/film, I’m not sure they’d have been able to find enough willies to feature one every week? Where would they have been getting the images (I’m hoping it wasn’t women photographing their boyfriends and sending the pics in)?

Having said all that, it does very vaguely ring a bell…

LuluBlakey1 · 23/03/2023 22:38

When I was about 16 Cosmo produced a supplement with about 500 photos of penises in it. Most were very ugly .

Thisismeyeah · 23/03/2023 22:39

Gosh More magazine, that brings back some memories. This is something the youth of today wouldnt understand the importance of these magazines without the internet.

QueSyrahSyrah · 23/03/2023 22:33

Torso of the week - Yes
Position of the week - Yes
Willy of the week - No

This is my memory too.

What in earth were you reading in the 90s @AlisonHalligan ? 😁

My dad has zero interest in what magazines my sister and I read. Until, one day, he was bored and picked up my sisters More magazine.

I don't know about your dad, my dad had a vein that protruded from his forehead when stressed or angry. It was very prominent that day 😂

Stigsmother · 23/03/2023 22:55

Was it on The Girly Show, on Channel 4, they definitely had wanker of the week, and a line-up of willies, which (I think) their partners had to identify?

LyricalBoudicca · 23/03/2023 23:03

I look back on that genre of magazines and can't help but think that they betrayed a generation of young, impressionable girls. Shame on those editors.

I was young and inexperienced enough when I read More to genuinely believe people had normal, standard sex in those positions!

I remember one Position of the Week was basically like doing the wheelbarrow race on Sports Day, but with penetration. Ludicrous, and clearly humorous in retrospect, but we all took it very seriously and assumed that’s what sex was actually like.

BabychamGlass · 23/03/2023 23:22

Like everything else says, I was an avid reader of More and don't remember this.

Position of the Fortnight, yes. I also seem to recall that it was one of their writers who very first coined the phrase 'Good Hair Day', and also they did an ad piece introducing the Spice Girls... back when Geri Halliwell was to be known as 'Sexy Spice' Grin

And yes, they were all ugly.

But I think willies are ugly anyway 😂

whitebreadjamsandwich · 23/03/2023 23:28

I absolutely remember a weird willy feature in More or another magazine of a similar vein

HostessTrolley · 23/03/2023 23:33

"Smart Girls Get More"

I completely disagree. I grew up reading More, but I’m of the kind of sandwich generation between magazines and books, and the internet. We were brought up by parents who were far less internet savvy than later generations, and probably had way too much unfiltered access to the internet and chat rooms, etc.
More definitely gave information in a far safer way than the internet.

Loved sex position of the week and the wheel barrow was a classic!

I agree with another poster that said about how important these magazines were before the days of the Internet. So true! I learnt so much about contraception, sex, my body etc... Yeah there was some rubbish in them too some of the advice invaluable.
