More Magazine- willy of the week?

Hmm, fellow Gen Xers, can you help? I have a vague memory of a magazine, possibly More, having a regular feature mocking an unusual looking penis. Seems unthinkable now but I'm pretty sure this actually happened rather than being some weird fever dream. Anyone remember?

I used to read Minx too limited!

I also remember position of the fortnight in More but don’t remember willy of the week!

I could swear there was a magazine called “For Women” which had pictures of naked men in … just me ????

Not just you! I bought a copy when I was 19, and put one of the posters up on my wall. I had to pin a playing card over the crotch area, because my flatmate was very prim and she had a massive fit over it, even though we had single rooms and she actually had to come into my room to see it.

I don't think For Women lasted long, but it had some very, um, nice stories.

No i think i remember there being a lot of spin around it in the press, being the first pornographic mag for women. Or maybe i was imagining it.

No, neither of you are imagining it. Early 90s as I remember, it was meant to be a sort of Playboy for women. I think I bought the first couple of issues but it was all very samey. I don't think women get have the same instant arousal to a naked man, however attractive, that men get to naked women.

Plus, the photos were subject to the Mull of Kintyre rule https://www.yourdictionary.com/mull-of-kintyre-rule so it was all a bit of let down really.

Does anyone remember that other magazine, it didn't run for long, it came out every 2 weeks and it actually had actual content, it had current affairs, a focus piece in each issue - I remember one of the first was about FGM and it had a small bit of beauty and a tv guide, (maybe it was weekly then), but its the only magazine I've known of for a very long time that might give what I'd want to read about and it folded fairly quickly unfortunately.

I can't think of that it was called though. I did email the publishers once to see if they'd ever consider anythgin like it again but got fobbed off. When pretty every magazine is about celebrities (heat/closer etc) or just one big advert (glamour) there isn't much I want to spend my money on.

ImSweetEnoughDarlin · 24/03/2023 14:04

Would have been early 2000's.

More Magazine- willy of the week?
QuintanaRoo · 24/03/2023 17:48

I definitely remember a magazine aimed at that age which had a two page spread of different willies. I was 👀. Might have been a one off rather than a regular feature.

QuintanaRoo · 24/03/2023 17:49

And it was in 1993 as I had the magazine in my work locker and my locker got searched and I had the magazine folded open on that page! 🙈😂

RatSlave · 24/03/2023 17:51

It was Sky magazine! They used to have them dressed up as different characters too.

forceofhabitandnotneed · 24/03/2023 20:08

As a student I recall looking round a prospective house share where the girls had papered pretty much the entire living room in torn-out Position Of The Fortnight pages! Can't deny I was rather intrigued but ended up living somewhere else.

As a bloke though what rather bugged me about More was that it seemed to almost celebrate laddish and rather shallow blokes at times - as in "they're a bit thick and often think with their dicks but ya got to love 'em anyway". That might have just been my rather skewed perception, though!

Maisiemood · 06/04/2024 02:11

Yes I rember I was about 11(no one stopped what you got in those days)😂 I rember they used to do a yearly thing I’m sure about men. Anyway one magazine I bought had wee booklet inside of different willys) I found it intersting😂 asked my aunt about who was quick enough to tell on me to my mum. ooh the mental scars from that day😂 but how until so many real willys in a booklet from before there was enough on internet; good ways to being curious at that time

PickledMuffin · 07/04/2024 21:47

oh my god, I remember that 🤣

When I was about 16 Cosmo produced a supplement with about 500 photos of penises in it. Most were very ugly .

I remember this!

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 07/04/2024 22:45

I loved reading those magazines when I was about 13-16! All I can think of was what an absolute riot it must have been to work for them in their golden age of position of week etc!

Wagonwheelforme · 07/04/2024 22:51

Saschka · 23/03/2023 23:10

I was young and inexperienced enough when I read More to genuinely believe people had normal, standard sex in those positions!

I remember one Position of the Week was basically like doing the wheelbarrow race on Sports Day, but with penetration. Ludicrous, and clearly humorous in retrospect, but we all took it very seriously and assumed that’s what sex was actually like.

Haha I remember that one!

I think they were trying to make sex fun and break down any shame or embarrassment, but wish they’d also explained there are only really 3 positions!! 😂

some of the advice was also BS - I remember one position was sex in the shower. They said that water was a great lubricant….anyone who has ever had sex knows that water isn’t a lubricant - it washes it away!

FoodAnxiety · 07/04/2024 22:15

I remember this!

Was that the one that had Ainsley Harriott with strategically positioned grapes or was that a different issue?

I’m clearly scarred by it all!
