Too soon in relationship to have a child?

Aibu to think getting pregnant after only a few weeks/ months of dating a person is just too soon? I’ve seen a few people I know over the years jump into this commitment, imo, very quickly and I wonder if they even realise the enormity of having a child with someone? I definitely feel some people panic and don’t really care so long as they can say ‘they have a child.’ Biological clock ticking and all that.

I really judge are when it's five minutes into a new relationship and the woman already has children and is getting pregnant by someone she's known all of five minutes.

That is a guaranteed path to misery for all involved.

I think it's way too soon. I think people forget that it doesn't just effect then. They are choosing a father for their would be child which will.
Impact them all their lives, good and bad.
I often thinks people don't think about that enough before they jump into ttc with virtual strangers .

One of my closest friends got with her now husband in August and was pregnant by Christmas of the same year. Baby was born a couple of days before their first anniversary. Not planned but that baby is now 11 and they've been married for 8 years and had two more DC, so clearly they made it work.

Equally I've seen couples split not long after having children even if they'd been together for years previously.

Five weeks after meeting my now DH I got pregnant after contraception failure. For us it worked out as we've now been together nearly 18 years and married nearly 10.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend it but obviously it can work.
