Does this travel cup exist?

I need a travel cup that keeps everything really hot- but crucially, completely seals so I can carry it in my backpack
Currently I am using my chillys bottle as a flask as it totally seals and doesn't spill but its too hard to drink a hot drink out of a bottle.
I have googled previously and bought a few different ones but they have all leaked

Is there such a travel cup that totally seals and can be in a backpack for a commute- and still hot when I get to my desk at work?

All help gratefully received!

Contigo all the way!!! I recently made a coffee in a 4 year old contigo, (pre heated the cup with some boiling water). Forgot it and left it in my car. 9 hours later when I got back to car it was still a little too hot to drink! Also totally leak proof. I love them.

Relatable.
I went away for a night, and brought coffee with me for the journey out in the contigo. it was always too hot to drink. Eventually I drank it the following morning - still warm! (no longer hot).
I actually never use our contigo because I feel like I can never actually drink the coffee because it's always too hot. But it is great because it never leaks (really never ever - unless the rubber seal thing isn't in right).
I prefer what I think is a circular mug. It doesn't leak (though I'm not sure about upside down/bashed about like I am with contigo) and the coffee tastes nicer out of it and actually cools down enough to drink.

Thermos. I've had mine for donkeys years and it's still going strong. Never leaks & keeps my coffee hot all day.

magicstar1 · 07/02/2023 13:24

I've always thrown my Contigo into my bag, and never had a leak at all.

pensionconfusion · 07/02/2023 13:28

I bought one today.

Alladin and is leak proof and can be carried in a bag. There is a safety switch that seals it.

Drinks stay warm for over 2 hours. Mine has now been piping hot for over 30 mins so far and I'm still waiting for it to be at drinkable temperature 😂

Kollykolla bottles. They're on Amazon. Lots of different sizes. I put hot soup in at 6 and still struggled with it being too hot at 1 pm lunch. Never had a leak. They're fab.

Excited101 · 07/02/2023 13:32

My ello campy mug is fab! Looks so great and completely sealed even upside down- I used to run with it and have coffee when I got to the park.

For heat and a total seal rather than looks, you can’t beat a food thermos. But it’s not got a lid you can drink through.

JenniferBarkley · 07/02/2023 13:34

Another contigo vote - got mine during lockdown and I'd still trust it in a bag.

Although it keeps drinks too hot for me, so I mainly use at home with the lid off these days!

Yeti travel mugs are great

I have found the Tefal leak proof travel mug very good and keeps the drinks hot for ages too.

This is also my Holy Grail. I like to have 2 travel mugs - one for tea (work, which can be all over the place) and one for hot squash (outdoor sports, swimming).?

I had 2 Contigos - a Snapseal and a Loop.

The Loop was ok, but never kept drinks that warm for that long, even when preheated. Strangely, I've lost it.

The Snapseal was amazing. Kept drinks super hot for hours, but after 8 years mine was getting really skanky on the inside and no amount of scrubbing/cleaning/bicarb would get it clean and it was making drinks taste off.

I have replaced my Snapseal with a new Snapseal -£12 from Tesco last week.

I have also just bought a Stanley travel mug, which I have only used once, but seemed to be pretty good - still a bit warm 9 hours later.

Sadly I've had Covid since I got my new mugs so havn't used either in anger yet!

Santeco
Got mine in TKMaxx but they are available online just now, they have a sale just now. Dropped it down the stairs yesterday, full, and it didn't open or leak, only a few scuffs from the paint on the stairs. Keeps my tea hot when working in the loft which has no heat. Would recommend.

Lund · 07/02/2023 13:49

I'll add to the Contigo vote - mines a west loop. Keeps a drink so hot I have to let it cool down a bit before putting the lid on! Gets thrown around in my back pack with no leaks!

This one - Contigo should work for you.

Lifeventure thermal mug. I’ve had this for years for camping etc and it’s never leaked.

pattihews · 07/02/2023 13:59

I know this is going to sound very old school, but wtf is wrong with a flask? I have a fabulous small Tefal vacuum flask that, if you heat it up with hot water before pouring your drink in, remains very hot for hours afterwards. It doesn't leak and it comes with it's own little cup. It's metal and when in 30 years time you decide to junk it, it can be recycled.

pattihews · 07/02/2023 14:01

Ah, I see. It's the look of the thing that matters. Influencers, branding...

Luana1 · 07/02/2023 14:01

I have had two contigos (different models) and they both started leaking after about a year as the rubber seal rings became less effective. I would recommend the brand if you are happy to replace them as they are completely leak proof (until they are not!) and do keep drinks hot.

MrsMonkeyBear · 07/02/2023 14:01

Kleenex Kanteen. I do just toss mine in my bag full of coffee and the only time it's leaked is when I hadnt put the lid on tight enough. I've had it for about 5 years and use it daily for my walk to work

whosaidtha · 07/02/2023 14:02

I have a smash one I got from Sainsbury's. No leaks even upside down in my bag.
