Does this travel cup exist?

I need a travel cup that keeps everything really hot- but crucially, completely seals so I can carry it in my backpack
Currently I am using my chillys bottle as a flask as it totally seals and doesn't spill but its too hard to drink a hot drink out of a bottle.
I have googled previously and bought a few different ones but they have all leaked

Is there such a travel cup that totally seals and can be in a backpack for a commute- and still hot when I get to my desk at work?

All help gratefully received!

Contigo upsidedown, sideways, shake up and down - no leaks.

Pre warm with boiling water first to help it keep super hot.

DuckWithOneWing · 07/02/2023 12:54

Definitely contigo. I throw mine in my bag every day and it never leaks

shouldhavetakenmorenotice · 07/02/2023 12:55

Contigo fan here too!

JusteanBiscuits · 07/02/2023 12:55

Contigo all the way!!! I recently made a coffee in a 4 year old contigo, (pre heated the cup with some boiling water). Forgot it and left it in my car. 9 hours later when I got back to car it was still a little too hot to drink! Also totally leak proof. I love them.

Do the people with contigo cups find it easy to clean them with the snap seal?

I have an auto seal and inside there's a little lever you can press to open the bit you drink out of for washing. The twist cover comes off too.

Just make sure you snap it back in place before you put it in your bag. learnt the hard way

I just use a good old fashioned Thermos flask and pour my drink into my favourite coffee mug when at work. I don't like "sipping" drinks from travel mugs - just doesn't feel right.

I have a Circular Cup (formerly rCup), bought on Amazon. It's properly leakproof, and made of recycled materials, but doesn't keep drinks hot for more than about an hour in my experience.

These are fab. I bought one after seeing a colleagues and friends have bought them after seeing mine. The mechanism is really clever, they do not leak and they're pretty robust (I have dropped mine several times). But yes, agreed that they keep the heat for 30-60 mins only.

SnaccidentsHappen · 07/02/2023 13:00

I burn my tongue everytime. Stays hot for hours

WhiskySour83 · 07/02/2023 13:00

Great info, I've been looking for the same thing! I've currently got a Yeti mug but I'm not overly impressed - it's a bit leaky, although everyone else seems to love them so maybe I just got a dud. Has anyone had both a Yeti and a Contigo and can compare?

SnaccidentsHappen · 07/02/2023 13:01

Oops posted too soon. Also no spills.

Had mine for 4/5 years now, still good as new.

daffodilandtulip · 07/02/2023 13:01

Thermos do a little travel cup with a screw lid. Take it out first thing and still need to leave the lid off to drink at lunchtime. I like it because it's so easy to clean, no hidden nooks.

Blanketpolicy · 07/02/2023 13:02

We seem to be the only ones with problems with Contigos leaking! I had it with 2 (I use them for keeping water cold) and dh also had it with his (hot coffee).

DH switched to Thermos travel mugs for coffee. I still use my Contigo, but I am just careful with them and never carry in bag full.

WhatsitWiggle · 07/02/2023 13:02

My Ohelo is brilliant, turn it upside down and nothing comes out!

HinnyHoway · 07/02/2023 13:05

Think I had the contigo west loop. It never leaked until the rubber seal went but then it started making drinks taste
manky, I think the clicker button mechanism and the spout / drinking bit was too fiddly to clean properly and got all mouldy 🤮

Toddlerteaplease · 07/02/2023 13:07

Contigo!

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 07/02/2023 13:09

This Contigo mug is the best travel mug I've ever seen and I recommend it to everyone. I've had mine 4-5 years, dishwashed it to fuck and apart from superficial problems (black paint cover came off, now it's 100% stainless steel colour! and silvery plastic sticker crinkling away from around the release button) it's lasted really well.

The cup auto seals and you can further lock this to prevent accidentally opening it. I carry it in my handbag or backpack and never had an incident.

Absolutely love it.

Crazymadchickenlady · 07/02/2023 13:10

I love my Emsa mug. Leakproof and keeps hot for hours. I prefer drinking out of it compared to my Contigo one which I don't really like. Comes in a 500ml size too but I have the smaller 360 ml one.

Contigo is amazing. I second everyone's.

I concur- have 3 now!

mayihavesomecakeplease · 07/02/2023 13:13

Another vote for the Circular Cup - really clever design. I put mine in my bag with milk in it and add the tea when I get to work, and it's never leaked.

mayihavesomecakeplease · 07/02/2023 13:14

Although I don't know that it would keep tea that hot - it's a clever design but not fully insulated so I should maybe redact my vote!

beachcitygirl · 07/02/2023 13:16

My chilly coffee cup doesn't leak

This smash one is awesome. I run commute and this thing stays sealed even after a 5 mile run.

ChocolateHelps · 07/02/2023 13:19

Hydro flask. Lid snaps shut. Keeps things extremely hot!
