Husband labelling HIS OWN FOOD

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 18:37

Hi all
Now, am I being old fashioned here? Husband since 2014 has taken to labelling ALL the food he buys with a sharpie pen..which ironically I bought.. expecting no one to touch it. But when it comes to the food I buy..plus literally everything else from loo roll to bin bags to washing powder that I buy..is fair game for him to use or eat as he sees fit. So much for a shared household eh? Sharing is caring..( lol)! Has anyone else experienced this..? Am I being unreasonable to be totally razzed off by this?

What does he say when you ask why he gets to keep all “his" food to himself, while all the food you buy is for sharing?? Surely there's no reasonable answer to that?

TitsInAbsentia · 28/01/2023 20:57

Replace the sharpie with a disappearing ink marker...voila!
But also, what a knob.

Trez1510 · 28/01/2023 21:04

Has he, perhaps, just worked out how to use the Sharpie, and he's practising his art?

Perhaps it's just a phase? 😉

Lougle · 28/01/2023 21:04

I'm glad that someone has clarified that the OP has been married since 2014 but the Sharpie-marking in very recent. I was about to call troll on the basis that there is no way a single Sharpie would last that long!!

Can I ask how old he is? I have had patients do this and it was a very early dementia sign. Or he is just being a d**k!!!

ttcat37 · 28/01/2023 21:06

Take a bite out of everything. Then cross his name out on everything and write PRICK. Then ltb

Wait until he's asleep and draw on his face with the Sharpie

Yes.

Draw a dick.

Lovelysausagedogscrumpy · 28/01/2023 21:11

So he’s not really your husband, he’s the lodger !! Lock up the loo roll and washing powder, and anything else you pay for and tel him that until he gets real, he’ll have to sort himself out.

inloveandmarried · 28/01/2023 21:12

I'd get a different colour sharpie. Cross his name through and write NO next to it.

I'd also ignore it if I'd bought it and he'd not specifically asked for that product.

Is this to stop you eating things or your children? I know teenagers can hoover up everything in sight.

ArcaneWireless · 28/01/2023 21:13

There would be. ‘Not’ and ‘yours’
written on left and right tit for starters and a great big ‘mine’ above the foof.

and when he was sleeping an ‘all yours’ on his man. If there is room.

alania · 28/01/2023 21:13

You’ve said ‘ my kids’ so I assume he’s pissed off at paying for your kids to hoover up food. Maybe that’s the issue. Kids are greedy c*nts.

I don't understand op?

He's been doing this 8 years! When he first did it, did you not call him out on it?

Is it just treats (so special chocolate type thing) or actual food for meals? If the latter, it's abusive.

I eat gluten free but even then I happily share that food if someone else in the house fancies it (which despite it often being not as nice as other options with gluten, they rather often do!).

Hi

No..he started doing this about a year ago...

What's with the short posts and completely ignoring all the questions op? You seem curiously unbothered by this weirdness.

VeronicaFranklin · 28/01/2023 21:17

Weirdest thing I have ever heard....

Pixiedust1234 · 28/01/2023 21:17

soboredtonight · 28/01/2023 19:15

I'd lick every single thing he labelled.

😂😂

Pedallleur · 28/01/2023 21:18

Just hide the (up his arse?). Every time he gets another just bin it.

Pedallleur · 28/01/2023 21:18

Should say Sharpie

Itisbetter · 28/01/2023 21:19

You’re ignoring lots of perfectly reasonable questions @MrsWestox

Why does he do this?
what happens if you ignore it?
Why did it start

JammiDodgers · 28/01/2023 21:19

Nah . Couldn’t and wouldn’t put up with that bollocks. What a squeaky greedy tight arse.

My first boyfriend came from a family like this. Way too much shit for me to put up with .

I could never be with anyone like that.

Organisebrood · 28/01/2023 21:22

LeapingCat · 28/01/2023 18:48

Is he financially abusive generally?

My thoughts too.

Yes , it's odd .

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 28/01/2023 21:23

@MrsWestox
I think his sharpie is the least of your problems he sounds like a right nutjob- I'd get rid

Not unbothered at all. Very , very bothered and so is everyone I share this with.
When you have been gaslit so long you kind of need a stark reality check in with Joe and Jane public..
