Husband labelling HIS OWN FOOD

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 18:37

Hi all
Now, am I being old fashioned here? Husband since 2014 has taken to labelling ALL the food he buys with a sharpie pen..which ironically I bought.. expecting no one to touch it. But when it comes to the food I buy..plus literally everything else from loo roll to bin bags to washing powder that I buy..is fair game for him to use or eat as he sees fit. So much for a shared household eh? Sharing is caring..( lol)! Has anyone else experienced this..? Am I being unreasonable to be totally razzed off by this?

Your kids are in their 20’s… do they not say anything either?

Imagine them moving out and continuing this shit with their own families thinking it’s normal behaviour.

Reugny · 28/01/2023 19:25

OP when a newspaper picks this thread up either buy a copy/print it out, frame it and put it in a place that no-one that comes into your house can avoid reading it.

In other words SHAME HIM

Shouldbedoing · 28/01/2023 19:26

I think you need to wheel out the phrase.
"It's time we got a divorce"

Exasperatednow · 28/01/2023 19:26

Why are you still with him?

whereaw · 28/01/2023 19:27

Have you labelled the pen as yours?

Canthave2manycats · 28/01/2023 19:28

Shove the Sharpie up his arse!!

KettrickenSmiled · 28/01/2023 19:28

Preferfriday · 28/01/2023 19:04

Something for his birthday then.

I’d lock the sharpie in there.

😂😂😍

<<genuine guffaws>> cheers Preferfriday Wine

ThreeblackCats · 28/01/2023 19:29

I’d label the cupboards, worktops, table and fridge as mine and dump all his labled food in a black back !
how can you be married to such a knob end?

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 19:30

Interesting..they still together??

RosesAndHellebores · 28/01/2023 19:30

Why didn't you stop it when it started in 2014. What was the catalyst? Has he labelled his willy rather than ever expect a blow job? Is he neurodiverse? Is he controlling in other ways.

It's a bit late after 9 years to tell him to cease without packing your bags or ending up in Holloway for the foreseeable.

Aquamarine1029 · 28/01/2023 19:31

Why are you buying everything? Stop buying "his" food. Does this loser contribute to anything?

EasterIsland · 28/01/2023 19:32

Why are still putting up with his control? — it sounds like abuse to me.

Mannymoomin · 28/01/2023 19:32

I bet he hasn’t labelled his penis, funny that.. perhaps you should suggest it since it belongs to him

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 19:33

You're a GENIUS! THANKS!!😂

Yes..mostly seperate finances and seperate rooms. Shared utilities and car insurance.

Um. Oh.

Nowt wrong with separate finances, so long as each party is generally equitable to the other, or separate bedrooms, so long as by mutual & contented agreement.

But ... the Sharpie Doesn't Lie. So I have to ask - do you actually still like him, 9 long years on from the Great Inaugural Labelling of 2014?

Onnabugeisha · 28/01/2023 19:34

I’ve only ever labelled food destined to be work lunches because some of the offices I’ve been in there’s been a “no name, fair game” culture regarding the office fridge.

MissHoollie · 28/01/2023 19:35

I'd question paranoia to be honest

adriftabroad · 28/01/2023 19:35

My husband bought his OWN FRIDGE for HIS bathroom and used to give DD(13) half a lindor chocolate as a treat.

I am obviously in the middle of a divorce and left after maybe 3 years? Took me forever though... there was lots more.

Morielle · 28/01/2023 19:36

Ick

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 28/01/2023 19:38

Amateur.

They sell little label machines, why is he still using a sharpie?

KettrickenSmiled · 28/01/2023 19:39

So what happens when/if you you or DC eat something he labelled?

Please say at least you have done so?

skippymcflippy · 28/01/2023 19:40

Fucking hell.
Just get rid of him OP. What on earth is the point of having him in the house?
He's just an annoying tosspot flatmate.

In the meantime, label every fucking thing that belongs to you and all food you purchase with a Sharpie.

Do not have children with this selfish entitled prick.

Cocochat · 28/01/2023 19:42

You need to label your food af the supermarket checkout as its scanned.
Mine and knobhead should do.
Obviously explain to the assistant.

Forgooodnesssakenow · 28/01/2023 19:43

MrsWestox · 28/01/2023 19:15

Hmmmm this is kind of it as my 2 kids are in their 20's and still at home. But..and this is a big one, he is quite happy to hoover up stuff which isnt his " property" and he has not contributed to.. which does PROPERLY razz me off in the extreme. He does this quite blatantly. So what's mine is everyone's..but what's his is HIS with a red sharpie saying so..😔

You're an adult woman with adult children, why did you marry this manbaby?
