Beauty students asked to strip in front of trans rapist at college AFTER sex attacks

My AIBU title taken from this news article:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/beauty-students-asked-strip-front-29063499

This whole 'Isla Bryson' cluster-fuck has me angrier than I can describe.

These girls had to accept and trust this vile individual in their beauty course on the basis of Isla's claim to be a woman, nothing more. They even tolerated abuse from Isla.

They were not told this individual was facing charges of rape. The college claim they didn't know either. Because 'Isla' said he was a women, these young women felt they had no choice but to strip to virtually naked in front of him. Failing to do so would be 'bigoted'.

But he also happens to be a serial rapist. Young women, some possibly aged 16 or so, stripping to virtually naked while a serial rapist watches. If this was my daughter I would be going mad.

Where is the safeguarding?

AIBU to feel viscerally angry with all our politicians about this?

Lisa Nandy is a complete and utter numpty. One of the biggest sheeple going. She hasn’t a clue what’s she on about and followed the crowd in a desperate attempt to be liked and given some sort of recognition. Watching her tie herself up in word salad knots is hysterical. When that ship really goes down, she is one of the first that Starmer will throw overboard.

She absolutely is.

It was interesting on listening to her pronouncements on this again to note the trans person she repeatedly references. One of her constituents is trans and she brings them up as an example of the most vulnerable and marginalised member of society.

So marginalised that this person has her attention and constant advocacy where thousands of women don’t. Lisa even claims to be supportive of the women who suffer domestic abuse in her constituency but refuses to acknowledge that they almost always need single sex spaces for recovery.

Do you think Starmer will ever be brave enough to take a stand on this? His current silence is telling.

She is but so is Starmer and the rest of them

Hopeless and pathetic

Same with NS and SNP

Completely out of excuses for utter crap ness

TangledWebOfDeception · 31/01/2023 10:43

Let's not let the Tories off completely, though. A lot of the advancement of this illegal/unethical capture campaign has happened on their watch.

They should have smacked it right down, and they need to sort this shit out once and for all.

Helleofabore · 31/01/2023 10:49

I agree Tangled they did let this go too far.

Emotionalsupportviper · 31/01/2023 10:50

Yep @TangledWebOfDeception

I guess we’ll see which countries can detangle from lies

Yes and we also need an urgent review into the transwomen being held in female prisons in England too.

TangledWebOfDeception · 30/01/2023 11:17

It has happened. One reason why I have boycotted M&S and John Lewis for years now.

They told women who complained to fuck off, that protecting the feelz of the males who wanted to parade around in lingerie was more important than having a female changing rooms/bra fitting rooms.

So I fucked off and I will never shop with them again.

I didn't know but of course am not surprised, unfortunately.

FOJN · 31/01/2023 11:24

Absolutely, I'm hoping the situation in Scotland will be creating some panic in England and Wales. Of course any changes are likely to be politically motivated rather than any genuine concern for the abhorrent practice of housing men in women's prisons but at this point I just want to get the job done because the current situation is unacceptable.

TangledWebOfDeception · 31/01/2023 11:29

It is SIMPLE and STRAIGHTFORWARD and I will keep repeating it:

Males remain males no matter what they want to think/feel/wear/not wear/do to their bodies (or not!).

There shouldn't be males in ANY female space. Not at school, not at brownies/guides, not at college/university. Not at work and not in sports. Not at rape crisis, not in DV shelters or in trauma therapy groups. Not in breastfeeding groups, menopause groups, hospital wards.

NO, we do not consent.

scratchedbymycat · 31/01/2023 11:57

I've just written to him, on all this, LLoyd Russell-Moyle, and general misogyny in the Labour Party. And I'm sending the letter signed for delivery. Not expecting a reply, but I hope he at least reads it.

If Starmer ever wants to win an election, he needs to remember that he is leader of the opposition and was once in charge of the CPS, not the local student unions latest attention seeking group for narcissists.

Emotionalsupportviper · 31/01/2023 13:51

I think he's relying on loathing of the Tories sweeping Labour into power - but I know many women who would rather vote Tory JUST because they continue to recognise women as a sex, than vote Labour, or Green, or LibDem just because the KNOW that if any of those parties get in, the way things stand, women are lost

Either that or he doesn't want to get in, with the state of the country now.

duc748 · 31/01/2023 14:00

Either way, it's a shameful abdication.

Yet another story about the horrors of housing men in women's prisons, this time in California.

"According to the Bureau of Prisons, almost 50% of trans-identified male inmates have been convicted of a sexual offense. This is compared to just 11% of the non-trans-identified male inmate population."

That figure is almost exactly comparable with those in the UK. I saw a story about women in Californian prisons last year, they sleep in shifts (dormitory accommodation) and have to move around in large groups. It's completely unconscionable.

Woman haters that’s what they are

MrsOvertonsWindow · 31/01/2023 14:15

There are people working in the NHS who openly rewrote policies that would allow known male sex offenders like Bryson to be placed on women's hospital wards. Personally I would identify every single one of them at every level in the NHS Trusts who wrote or signed off on these and sack them all.

That's where journalists need to start investigating. If suddenly sex offending transwomen shouldn't be in prison cells with women then why does the NHS get a pass for their enthusiasm for placing them on women's wards?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 31/01/2023 14:18

For anyone who thinks that my last post was exaggerating and nobody working for the NHS would advocate this - here's the evidence. Nottinghamshire, Devon & Oxford employ people who want this:

Even moderation is changing

What is also very telling is the largely very muted responses from people who would usually be on here calling women names such as TERF etc

Apart from a few questionning OP with mild objections it’s been notably very quiet. I think reality is starting to hit home with all women…. Even the nice ally ones

ReneBumsWombats · 31/01/2023 14:24

I'm sitting on my hands not to @ all the usual suspects (we all know who they are).

Goodness, if only someone had foreseen that self ID might lead to this....

Charitably, some of them may simply not care, seeing the needs of TIM as far higher than those of women, because Most Vulnerable Persecuted Group Ever.

I think few people, transgender folk included, could really defend a serial rapist actually watching young girls strip to near naked. Which is what happened. Fact. It's beyond repulsive.

I suspect those same people though, would have massive objections had I started a thread raising a risk, something along the lines of 'This could possibly happen because ...' Suggesting the possibility would be considered transphobic and hurtful to transgender women.

I hope Mumsnet reflects on this and I hope they have the possibility sobering realisation that heavy handed moderation and shunting women off to a sub-group of a sub-group meant Mumsnet was effectively silencing women on a profoundly serious issue. I'm actually quite angry about that.

Exactly, we've gone back in time somehow but it's much much worse, I may have got alot of shit for not being a stereotypical girl growing up and in many of my first jobs where you could honestly get a warning for wearing trousers but fuck me I wasn't dragged off to the doctors to be "corrected" for not confirming. The irony being the sick bastards really think they're being progressive.

OneMorePlant · 31/01/2023 15:25

The silencing of women has been horrendous. It's currently the most misogynistic time I've experienced in my 40+ years.

At least in the last 50 years they did not deny women's reality and experiences and acknowledged men are dangerous to us.

TangledWebOfDeception · 31/01/2023 15:27

It’s deeply regressive, incredibly rigid and steeped in what should be considered totally outdated gender roles. Which makes their screeching about ‘inclusivity’ and ‘tolerance’ all the more infuriating! It’s anything BUT inclusive and tolerant. Never mind utterly nonsensical, based on delusions, with absolutely no basis in reality and fact.

Children and and young people of today have been horrifically failed. Many of them are vulnerable in some way, and/or autistic, which lends another level of horror.
