Would you judge neighbour if toddlers zip in coat was broken?

It just happened this morning as we were getting ready so I wrapped it tightly around him in his pram. He was completely cosy but he got out the pram and it ripped even more

My neighbour was out and she make a look at it. She does this often. she's very known in the street for screaming horribly and swearing at her 3 year old.

Would you judge the zip, im so annoyed it happened as we were leaving, I put it in the tumble dryer after washing it never even thought it would break.

I always feel the judgment from her, during the summer the kids played barefoot in the grass then I left the pram outside over nights.

She seems the type to report silly things too

I think you're over thinking this! Who would she report you to for a broken coat zip? Assuming you will be getting it fixed/replaced asap what is the actual issue? You sound like you judge her a lot, doesn't mean she's judging you

WandaWonder · 27/01/2023 09:26

If she had reported you or said something sure feel judged if not then maybe she has more going in on her life than worrying about you?

AngeloMysterioso · 27/01/2023 09:27

Wouldn't judge.
Most split zips are easily mended with a pair of pliers.

Needmorelego · 27/01/2023 09:27

50% of toddlers will refuse to even put a coat on (mine was one of those...).
I got a few "isn't she cold?" comments but largely no one really cares.
Who does she think she could report this too?
Just ignore her.

RogueV · 27/01/2023 09:27

I wouldn’t even have given it a second thought

FriedEggChocolate · 27/01/2023 09:27

If she screams and swears at her 3 year old, she has better things to do than judge your DC's clothes.

Mrsjayy · 27/01/2023 09:27

She sounds a total nightmare I wouldn't give her any head space .

R0ckets · 27/01/2023 09:28

Your neighbour hasn't actually judged you though for any of what you've said in your post.

You however seem to be judging her. If you get the idea she doesn't like you then it's probably because you're judging her.

Scalottia · 27/01/2023 09:28

Stop caring about what others think.

HistoryFanatic · 27/01/2023 09:28

My 11 month currently kicks off blankets, cosy toes and takes socks off whilst off in the pram. Very annoying. Let people judge if they want. Obviously nothing better to do. 🤷‍♀️

NoSquirrels · 27/01/2023 09:29

I’m not sure why you’d even clock a look from a neighbour - seriously, this is not a ‘reportable’ thing.

Do you know anyone handy who can repair a zip?

LBOCS2 · 27/01/2023 09:29

Not at all. My 6yo has been doing PE in leggings with a huge hole on one of the legs this week and last, as she did that thing where you find a small hole and wiggle it until it's huge? And we keep forgetting to buy her replacement ones. She's wearing her 10yo sister's leggings today 😂

Don't worry too much. He's dressed appropriately for the weather. That's literally all anyone cares about.

You've done nothing wrong, but I think by the sound of it, you need to be reporting HER!

aajzici · 27/01/2023 09:35

@R0ckets I don't judge her I just really don't like the shouting. By shouting I mean out of the normal like not losing your temper and shouting don't do that please. she screams shut the fuck up and I hate you to her 3 year old in rage it's really horrible to hear.

They were walking their dog and the 3 year old said I hate this I hate walking the dog and she screamed well I hate you did you ever think of that.

Like it's out of the normal, she's always screaming you're a horrible little boy, selfish little boy and it's the way she screams it too, it's really in a rage.

Sounds like she has mental health problems. That isn't normal behaviour.

You should be reporting her, then. She needs help to parent properly. Poor boy.

LovelyDayz · 27/01/2023 10:17

If that's really how she behaves I can't understand why you would care about her opinion of you and a ripped zip? That's horrendous.

This. I didn't read the post properly.

Completely agree. I couldn't hear this and do nothing. She's obviously stressed but I feel so sorry for the child.

SnarkyBag · 27/01/2023 10:25

I think it’s weird that you are making stuff up in your head about this woman “judging” you. She didn’t even comment on the coat and how on earth have you come to the conclusion that she seems the type to report people for silly reasons?

you seem more worried about things that have not actually happened rather than the fact she is abusive to her toddler?

Fragrantandfoolish · 27/01/2023 10:29

Look if she’s doing that then report to social services.

the zip is irrelevant.

Thepeopleversuswork · 27/01/2023 10:37

Jesus do people really have time to think about someone else having a broken zip?

And in any case if the person concerned is unhinged why would you care?

spiderlight · 27/01/2023 11:02

Poor little boy - that's awful! 😭 (Hers, not yours!)
