There are social tariffs for broadband and water if your on some benefits.
If you have Plantar Facilitis a Cortisone injection can be given free at the doctors and helps relieve the pain.
Tell us something we might not know that can help us?

Save wearing out your staircarpet by missing out every other step when going upstairs. Use the alternative steps when coming down to keep the wear even.

If you're doing academic research, instead of paying to subscribe to journals, email the author of the paper you want directly. They will often give you the paper for free.

If you're doing academic research you'll get free access through your university library.

Rewiring a plug?

Blue wire goes bottom left
Brown wire goes bottom right

I feel no pain pinching between my eyebrows, @Relaxd - how do I know that a potential attacker might be the same?
Also, if you bite someone, won't you get blood in your mouth?

Hi, not the bit above your nose, the centre of one eyebrow above the middle of your eye. Pinch above and below the eyebrow. We use this in the army, it’s a pretty tried and tested technique!

If you wear a hearing aid
then you are entitled to a disabled railcard.

If your over 6 ft 6 inches tall, you are categorised as disabled according to the BBC Disability person (at least Greg Davies was) 😆

When you're climbing the alternate stair , wear a bell so your sleeping cat who is counting One,Two,Three,Four ..I'll move when they get to Seven doesn't get a fright when you stand on them on step 8

I cured my Plantar Facilitis by stretching my hamstrings. To start I was doing it up to 6 times a day. Now it’s only occasionally.

if you whistle while chopping onions you won’t cry and your eyes won’t sting.

I cured mine in a few days by massaging my calves and feet with a massage gun (cost about £30 from Amazon).

Just tried it. Nada. Nothing.
Anyway, if it works for HM's Forces, it must be effective!

Also, sci-hub!

Also check out your local public library's e-offerings. Ours has access to certain sites which offer free access to research papers.

Good refinement there, NoName. Leads me to suggest hopping on all carpets due to the smaller area of shoe/carpet interface involved in the hop. Or alternatively taking longer strides - normal area of shoe/carpet contact but offset by reduced frequency.

Save on stair carpets, move to a bungalow.

D...does it work on polar bears?

After a breast cancer diagnosis many women suffer terribly from vaginal atrophy due to having to take Tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors. The symptoms of VA can be dreadful and life changing. But you can use local estrogen cream to reverse and cure the VA. A year's worth of correctly applied local estrogen is still only the equivalent of taking just ONE tablet of oral HRT.

So many women don't know this and suffer unnecessarily.

Also, Vaginal oestrogen helps if you get recurrent UTIs after menopause

@Emotionalsupportviper , I gave a coy of Tin Can Cook o the charity shop because I didn't want to waste money cooking meals by someone I have no faith in. Book was bought in a charity shop anyway.

@Sconces , but wasn't the alternative staircase expensive to install?

If you are over 60 (I am) and your partner is under 60 (they are) if they have a medical condition that requires drugs fake those symptoms yourself and voila free prescriptions !

Most bears will avoid you if they hear you coming…so if you are hiking in bear country singing

If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

Is likely to keep you safe (er) than being zen and peaceful and walking in silence

Also taking bear spray is a much better tactic than just hoping to lie down / fight it

I love how many bear related tips there are when most of us are in the UK with no bears 🐻

Never use the self cleaning function of your oven on a warm day. I've been saving this job since Christmas and now it's turned cold, I'm doing it today!
