There are social tariffs for broadband and water if your on some benefits.
If you have Plantar Facilitis a Cortisone injection can be given free at the doctors and helps relieve the pain.
Tell us something we might not know that can help us?

If you're baking and need to rub cold butter into flour then grate it into the flour first. It rubs in much faster than cubes do.

Not convinced by any of these. Any data to back them up?
No. 1 is quite likely to happen anyway when people are being attacked and get nervous and I'm not convinced it stops attackers.
Spitting and biting your attacker might infuriate him and he'd take it out on you. As you say, it's unlikely you'll be physically stronger so unless you're a self-defence wizard or have a weapon, I'm not sure fighting back is helpful...

I’m convinced pretending to be sick saved me when I was being attacked in a car. He actually opened the door. Somebody had told me to do that literally weeks before it happened.

Silk flowers clean up nicely, shaken in a plastic bag with some salt.
Baby oil is great for stainless steels sinks.

And um, bio washing powder or liquid cleans up any skulls you might want to preserve.
Get rid of as much of the soft tissue and brain that you can, then soak them in a solution for a few days to remove the residue. It brings them up nice and white.

Thanks Jeffery

People probably know this already, but I only discovered it yesterday. On an Excel spreadsheet, if you want to insert a row and you usually have to right click, select insert, then select entire row, you can instead just press 'alt IR' as a shortcut. This is the most exciting thing that's happened to me all year. Thank you.

A fan and some ice blocks in a bowl can be used as homemade air-conditioning in a heatwave.

I have stopped reading this thread as there too much polar bear talk.

I know what you mean it's hardly the 'top tip of the day' is it? Whilst...

'Don't antagonise Prince Harry as you may not appear as you would wish, in any book of his.'

(I have followed this and so far I've been OK.🙏)

NocturnalClocks · 21/01/2023 10:40

Our heated seats only work if there is someone sitting in them.

I guess this is an excuse to order a LOT of takeaway, to trick the car. Smile

NeverDropYourMooncup · 20/01/2023 21:53

Another tip.

Don't subject a dead Polar Bear to an Inquisition. It won't confess to Heresy even if it didn't expect it...

😂😂😂

Not even if you poke it with a cushion? 😆

NocturnalClocks · 21/01/2023 10:41

Oh and my top financial tip: do NOT get married!!!

Emotionalsupportviper · 21/01/2023 10:42

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 20/01/2023 21:58

You mean the bear necessities?

😀

BOOM, BOOM!

😂

NocturnalClocks · 21/01/2023 10:44

Oh another one... if you have small kids, when you make their bed put on a mattress protector, then a sheet, then a mattress protector, then a sheet. That way if they have an accident or are sick in the night, you can just take the top sheet and protector off and go back to bed. Also keep a spare quilt already made up in a cover in a cupboard for a quick swap.

Fold duvet covers, pillowcases and a sheet inside one of the matching pillowcases when you stack bed linen in the airing cuoboard so all bedding is in sets and easy to find.

One eighteen inch pizza is more pizza than two twelve inch ones

Don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from!

Excellent advice. Don't let people live rent free in your head. Forget nasty people, what they say is not worth upsetting yourself about over and over.

Emotionalsupportviper · 21/01/2023 10:54

NoNameNowAgain · 20/01/2023 22:40

And don’t eat any of it raw
Don’t eat dog liver Or squirrel brain
Melt your chocolate in the microwave

This advice is seriously limiting my Keto diet . . .

Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

Simply stand nearer to the thing you wish to view.

Unless it's a 🐻

I really want some squirrel brain now..

Dipped in melted chocolate . . .
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . . .😋

If confronted by an angry primate, crouch down and make yourself as small as possible. Look downwards, never look them in the eye and extend your arm with your palm facing upwards as a submissive gesture.

I’ll remember that next time I piss off the Pope. 😂😂

Well - that's a mouthful of tea I won't get back.

Clicking on the left hand numbered column will do this in one action rather than three.

Wear a dry rubber glove to easily wipe away pet hairs, lint etc. from fabrics.

GizaBiza · 21/01/2023 11:04

If it’s a bison, hoover it with a dyson (but definitely don’t dyson it with a hoover).

If you're called abroad on a family emergency, eg someone becomes ill, take out an annual travel policy before you go. Companies will not extend your policy once you are abroad if you need to stay for more than, say, the week you expected.insured for. You'll need to return to the UK before you can take out insurance again.

If you're ever called home from abroad in an emergency, do not attempt to book flights from your hotel/en route to airport. Get to the airport and ask at the information desk for details of the next three flights going to your destination, and then run to the desks of the flights in the order of their departure times.

That sounds like inforamtion from someone who has had to do that. Would I be right?

On bonfire night don't buy fireworks thus saving money, the environment and animals welfare.

A change in the law is needed here rather than a 'top tip'.

if you're not interested in a thread, simply don't post on it 🤓

Well said!! 👏

Safety tip: when eating a polar bear's lover, make sure the polar bear is nowhere near.

Does washing powder work on normal sized oars as well? If I'm using an oar to bash in a polar bears head, I want it to be much longer than a scull tbh...

You beat me to this!

I was tempted, but thought - I'll bet someone has picked up on these - and you had!

<thumbs up>

ElegantlyTouched · 21/01/2023 11:06

@DoNotEatPickles I've asked my cat to wake me in the past at a certain time and she has, every time. It's always been when I've needed to wake up earlier than usual so it's not like she's used to the routine. So much nicer being woken by a miaow than by my alarm.

Cheesetoastiesz · 20/01/2023 17:06

How some people don’t know some of these is really quite shocking.

Or people do and posters are teaching the masses to suck eggs
