Just to add to the DLA one...
It's correct that you don't need a diagnosis. Those assessing Child DLA/ Child Disability Payments have been made aware of the 3-4 years for diagnosis in many areas and have been instructed to make assessment on basis of needs.
My tip is to apply as early as possible even if you feel you are waiting for information, letters etc. The application might be turned down, but you can appeal/ re-apply when you get the additional information and the first payment will be backdated to when you first applied. So waiting to make the perfect application is a false economy.
Totally unrelated:
If you like boiled eggs in sandwiches etc but don't like shelling them -try boiling them as usual then putting them in a small glass (nutella are ideal), add cold water to about half way up the egg, then shake it with your hand over the top. Shake hard enough to see the shell crack. Take it out and the shell will just come away. This emulates shelling machines which agitate boiled eggs in cold water for mass production and really works.
Maybe totally obvious to everyone else but....
To save space when you buy a new bag of dishwasher tablets/washing machine powder etc for something that is running out, remember there is almost always enough wasted space in the new product to tip the old one in, rather than having to make space for 2 for a while.
Again, totally obvious to everyone else maybe but...
If you have more than one child use "Family SURNAME" or even your own name on name labels and stickers for school etc rather than the individual DC. Saves relabelling for hand me down clothes, lunch boxes, bottles, gloves etc, or even the huge amount of tupperware that seems to get lost when sending in baking for events.
