To be depressed and angry that sex offenders will be able to “change gender”

Following last nights vote by MSPs to reject an amendment to forbid sex offenders from accessing easier access to a GRC, it seems that womens rights to privacy and decency , same sex care , etc is not important. They are still to vote on the whole bill but until the legalities are clearer, surely this cannot be acceptable?

I get what PP mean but specifically Rose west is mainly a child SO and murderer so likely to be less of a threat to women in prison.

Their NAME will be on the sex offenders register which is FA use if they went on the register John Smith and are now identifying as Joanna Smith and they have the documents to prove their new identity.

The issue is that the offender is responsible for declaring all previous names but there is no proposed mechanism for marrying all their names and crimes together for the purpose of carrying out effective DBS checks.

Does this apply to regular name changes (without a change of gender)? If someone is on the SOR as John Smith but changes their name to Fred Bloggs, does that get tracked?

The Keep Prisons Single Sex group have examples from women prisoners and prison guards about the fear, harassment and distress being caused by housing males according to their preference without the faintest regard for the impact upon the women they require to be with. These women are locked up with these males, there is no getting away from them.

A number are serious sex offenders - and considering that less than 1% of rapes actually end up in a court room with a successful prosecution, any male who ends up in prison serving a sentence as a serious sex offender has done something very serious, multiple times to multiple people.

A current thread on FWR references information that there is (as of March 2021) a carefully designed risk assessment for male sex offenders that looks at their risk of offending and danger to others with a high success rate. However a male person with a GRC headed for a women's prison is not subjected to that assessment. They are instead given the female assessment, which measures in a completely different way as female offending patterns and behaviours are radically different, and is more or less useless in predicting the risks of a male offender. This messed up and pointless data is then used in the decision to inflict this male on women.

You can only see anything at all acceptable about this if you believe that the feelings and emotional needs of male humans is always more important than the feelings, emotional needs and bodily safety of female humans. And that the happiness of male sex offenders is worth the body count of harmed women, which is growing in number and will continue to grow.

You don't get a new birth certificate with any other name change and a birth certificate is the basis for most identity documents such as a passport or driving license which you need for things like job applications

So you would be happy for them to serve a prison sentence in a female prison, to get changed in a communal changing room along side you including communal showers.

Remember most transwomen do not take cross sex hormones and do not have surgery.
