My son wants cellotape for xmas

My 9 yr old son loves cello-tape ( and staplers, scissors) and makes ‘ models’ from our junk waste. I have saved some interesting junk waste and bought some patterned cellotape and a staple free stapler ( packaged into a gift box) for a Xmas. My husband thinks this is (pun) a rubbish gift. AIBU to give him cellotape and junk because he will love it ( he has other larger gifts)

I've bought my daughter blue tack 😂 she loves it so why not get them something they enjoy

And blue tack! My mind is made. Doing it. Could be a nice quiet Xmas morning.

Sounds great.
your son sounds like a future Blue Peter presenter… buy him some sticky back plastic too.
I loved being arty as a kid. I recommend Hobbycraft for lots of lovely creative ideas, you’re a lovely mum.

We gave my son several different coloured rolls of duct tape for his birthday a few years ago. He loved it. He also enjoys making things with trash. So I say go for it. Your son will be delighted

One year I gave my 8yo nephew a box filled with string, tape, scissors, glue, paper fasteners, and various kinds of cardboard boxes, tubes, etc. He loved it and still uses it. Do it!

DS10 has asked for a glue stick for Christmas 🤷🏻‍♀️. I have duly bought a large pritt stick. I have also bought other presents because he's been a good boy.
Listening to children and actually hearing them is a good idea. Hope your DH learns from your example, I bet your DS will be delighted with your gift.
