Intrigued by the amount of people on another thread who seemingly don’t wash their feet (this includes my DH🤢)

Just wanted to do a kind poll to see how many people exactly don’t wash their feet in the shower (by washing you feet I mean actively rubbing or scrubbing them with soap and rinsing them off not just getting them wet in the shower)

YABU - you don’t wash your feet

YANBU - you do wash your feet

Yes I do. Can’t believe people think just standing in the shower actually washes them. 🤮

I know right 🤢

Yes

Delectable · 10/12/2022 00:49

Must do especially between toes and under feet. In the spring start using a pumice stone and scraper to lightly exfoliate in prep for summer. Must wipe dry and moisturize afterwards.

LadyAstor · 10/12/2022 00:51

Oops. That should have been fungal infections - not viral infections.

Pelo2022 · 10/12/2022 00:53

Every time I shower. Flannel and soap, sometimes an exfoliating scrub. Then moisturise them. Try to look after my feet as well, we need them! Also it's horrible to have any sore bits or cracked heels are painful etc

SunshineLoving · 10/12/2022 00:54

No I don't. None of my family do either that I know of.

My feet don't smell. I've never had any kind of infection.

Pythonese · 10/12/2022 00:54

No, they get liberally covered in soap and hot water in the shower, and I frequently shower twice day.

RosesAndHellebores · 10/12/2022 00:57

Feet and below knees get soapy from the water and rinsing. My feet don’t smell, don’t have hard skin or fungal infections. Clean socks or tights every day and always wear leather shoes.

CallieQ · 10/12/2022 01:06

YANBU

Irishfarmer · 10/12/2022 01:16

I wash DS feet every day with a reusable baby wipe. For someone that is 4 months old and wears baby grows/ socks always they get incredibly grubby!!😬

And yes I wash my own with the puffy shower thing. Not a clue if DH washes his.

ProserpinaProserpina · 10/12/2022 01:18

I wash them if they are actively dirty. Otherwise a little paddle in the shower is perfectly adequate.

SunshineAndSummer · 10/12/2022 01:50

Eww so grossed out by people not washing their feet! How is that okay!
But this isn't as worse as people not washing their bottoms after going to the toilet. Yuck

Are you always so dramatic about banal matters that literally have fuck all to do with you? 😅

LubaLuca · 10/12/2022 02:29

I do. They're not very far from my hands so no effort involved.

BiasedBinding · 10/12/2022 07:24

What sheltered lives some people have led if they think not actively scrubbing feet with soap is so disgusting

these threads are always so bizarre

Fairislefandango · 10/12/2022 07:35

Wow - I think this is the first time I've come out on the side of the clean brigade in a MN hygiene debate! I wash everything on the shower every day. It wouldn't occur to me not to. Why wouldn't you wash your feet? It takes a few seconds.

CheapWine · 10/12/2022 07:40

I haven’t voted because this is my situation

I don’t usually have dirty or smelly feet.
Washing my feet in the shower with soap means I’m a bit unstable so don’t always do it.
I give them a good scrub in the bath, I prefer baths anyway especially in winter.
In the summer, if I’ve been wearing sandals and they are a bit gritty or grubby, I make a point of giving them a good wash.

so my answer would be sometimes but not always.

OhPeggySue · 10/12/2022 07:41

I dont understand how people can't work out which bits of their body to wash. In the normal run of things, armpits, bums, genitals and feet smell. You can smell them yourself. Surely people can figure that out. If I never washed my forearms again, it wouldn't matter a jot but if I didn't wash the aforementioned bits, it wouldn't take long before I'd start whiffing.
I had good parents and had very regular baths (70s kid, so not daily) but no one EVER told me specifically how to wash. Not parents, school, friends, anyone....I just figured it out.

BiasedBinding · 10/12/2022 07:43

You see, I do actually wash my feet. I just don’t think it’s worthy of a vomit emoji if other people don’t. I’m sure they have clean feet just as I do. You really don’t know disgusting if you think feet that have had soap suds washed over them fall into that category.

Not sure why a sheltered life or a gritty, tough life has any bearing on washing yourself? People from all walks of life and backgrounds prefer to be clean and not have cheesy feet.

Some of us just don't have smelly feet I suppose? I never pay particular attention to my feet and have never had any problems with my feet stinking. They don't sweat either - my feet are like 2 blocks of ice, even if the summer!

Why would you assume someone else’s feet are cheesy just because yours would be if you didn’t scrub them?

fuck I’m getting sucked into the nonsense

these threads are so so weird

sausage767 · 10/12/2022 07:51

Not every day unless they are actually dirty. I shower twice a day, I use body wash on my pits and bits. Wash my face with cleanser at night, but just water in the morning. I loofah everything with body wash once a week, and scrub my feet with a pumice once a week, otherwise they don’t get a direct wash. I’m pretty sensitive and I don’t think any part of my body smells.

NotSorry · 10/12/2022 07:53

I can’t believe there’s yet another post about this - the third in a week?

YABU for starting another post on the same topic
