Intrigued by the amount of people on another thread who seemingly don’t wash their feet (this includes my DH🤢)

Just wanted to do a kind poll to see how many people exactly don’t wash their feet in the shower (by washing you feet I mean actively rubbing or scrubbing them with soap and rinsing them off not just getting them wet in the shower)

YABU - you don’t wash your feet

YANBU - you do wash your feet

I wash my feet before going to bed. If I don’t have a rinse I wash one foot at a time in the sink. It’s just part of my routine.

Tripsabroad · 09/12/2022 22:11

Only if I've been wearing sandals out and about.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 09/12/2022 21:12

I do.

And my balance is shit so it’s real effort.

Took the words out my mouth. Always risky business standing on one foot then regaining two feet only to be met with slippery doom...
But I do wash my feet 🤣

I soak mine overnight in Milton and sulphuric acid.

I chop mine off every night and they regenerate. It's the only way.

user1471453601 · 09/12/2022 22:14

I'm not at all sweaty (I cannot move around enough to work up a sweat). I shower sitting on a chair. If I reached down to wash my feet, I'd go arse over tit. So I rely on the trickle down method (the only time "trickle" down actually works).

Whattodo182 · 09/12/2022 22:15

Now I think about it, it's the first thing I wash when I bathe my daughter, she loves getting all the suds in between her toes. And her feet ain't even used for walking yet 🤣🤣

stayathomer · 09/12/2022 22:16

Sometimes more times in the week then I shower, I work in a shop where I’m running about all day in awful shoes and they can be sweaty, smelly and sore a lot. After I wash I use Boots tea tree foot spray, it’s about two euro and my feet thank me for it, I also sometimes make a foot scrub with olive oil and sugar

ColdHandsHotHead · 09/12/2022 22:18

Yes, also foot spa at least once a week, dahhhhlings.

CaramelizedNuts · 09/12/2022 22:20

No. I've never had food odour issues.

As soon as I started washing my feet a few years ago they started smelling - must have interfered with the balance of the skin. Makes no sense whatsoever but my feet aren't in anyway dirty.

I would wash them after being barefoot in summer or stepping in something!

megletthesecond · 09/12/2022 22:22

Always. Bit of shower gel and a quick scrub.

sproutsandparsnips · 09/12/2022 22:25

Nope.
Never.
Swim twice a week.
Wash armpits, genitals and bum daily.
Don't think they smell......

vdbfamily · 09/12/2022 22:26

Never washed my feet( unless they are muddy) and never dried between my toes. Not smelly and never had athletes foot or any other issues.

DrFoxtrot · 09/12/2022 23:51

Is there a foot washing troll along the same lines as the poo troll, because this 'debate' comes up nearly every week on MN!

Workinghardeveryday · 10/12/2022 00:02

CovertImage · 09/12/2022 21:28

There's another thread EXACTLY the same as this one about who does and doesn't wash their feet in the shower, about three days ago for fucks sake. This is a TAAT so I hope it gets closed down. This sort of banal crap is ruining MN

Someone got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning…

Workinghardeveryday · 10/12/2022 00:03

Yes, I wash mine in the bath every night.

Sparklingbrook · 10/12/2022 00:05

Can”t decide if it’s better or worse than the competitive laundry threads or the constant need to discuss loo brushes.

LadyAstor · 10/12/2022 00:10

Yes, I do. It prevents odours, bacterial and viral infections such as Athletes Foot.

Not washing your feet is like not washing your armpits.

ilovepixie · 10/12/2022 00:10

Chattycathydoll · 09/12/2022 21:25

I do, if arthritis playing up I’ll sit on the bed with a wet flannel lol. Got to have clean feet. OH didn’t until he read a post about how white people don’t wash their legs/feet on twitter, then realised it never occurred to him! Can’t believe he went that long not thinking to wash his feet!

Bit Racist saying white people don't wash 😳😳

DuchessDandelion · 10/12/2022 00:19

No, don't be ridiculous.

I have people who do that for me.

What do you think I am, a peasant?

Redsquirrel5 · 10/12/2022 00:19

I do as I walk around barefoot a lot. I use a pumice stone about once a week. my balance isn't as good as it was though.

maddy68 · 10/12/2022 00:24

I have never specifically washed my feet. They get swished around in soapy water in my bath or shower. My feet dint smell

kissmelittleass · 10/12/2022 00:25

Yes otherwise between your toes remains smelly

KimberleyClark · 10/12/2022 00:39

I scrub mine every day with Cif cream and a Brillo pad.

Kissmybaubles · 10/12/2022 00:42

I have to agree, I think it’s bad for your health to have poor foot hygiene. It leaves you open to infections like athletes foot and feet will smell if not washed.

I just can’t believe how many people don’t wash their feet. I’m honestly shocked 😮
