Intrigued by the amount of people on another thread who seemingly don’t wash their feet (this includes my DH🤢)

Just wanted to do a kind poll to see how many people exactly don’t wash their feet in the shower (by washing you feet I mean actively rubbing or scrubbing them with soap and rinsing them off not just getting them wet in the shower)

YABU - you don’t wash your feet

YANBU - you do wash your feet

Does anyone fancy doing a third thread on this? I'm sure that it still has legs.

Have they been washed properly though 🤔

LOL . Yes I do wash them.

ouch321 · 09/12/2022 21:34

Clean them yes using a puff and shower gel.
Scrub them no. Not unless I'd stood bare feet in something gross.

There's another thread EXACTLY the same as this one about who does and doesn't wash their feet in the shower, about three days ago for fucks sake. This is a TAAT so I hope it gets closed down. This sort of banal crap is ruining MN

This is what it has come to. A vital poll about washing your feet, or not. Xmas Sad

GracePooleslaugh · 09/12/2022 21:35

YABVVVU to start another competitive hygiene thread.

Loics · 09/12/2022 21:35

I can't believe people think letting water rinse over their feet is enough. 🤢

Fluffygreenslippers · 09/12/2022 21:36

Yes I do. I shave my toes too 🤣

Loics · 09/12/2022 21:36

YABVVVU to start another competitive hygiene thread.

Surely having actually clean feet is more basic hygiene?

Itsabitnotcold · 09/12/2022 21:38

I do but I don't shower every day. I brutally exfoliate my entire body twice a week.

I reckon there's an inverse relationship between how thoroughly people wash and how often they wash.

If I didn't proper scrub then I'd probably feel dirty within a day.

bakewellbride · 09/12/2022 21:38

Yes I always wash my feet.

I usually wash my whole body every night in the shower but on the odd night I'll just wash key areas e.g arm pits, feet. I'd never not wash my feet.

BiasedBinding · 09/12/2022 21:38

Oh not this again

Isitsixoclockalready · 09/12/2022 21:39

This is the Mumsnet equivalent of a movie reboot.

TruckerBarbie · 09/12/2022 21:41

I always think that these people who don't wash feet/legs could probs scrape a finger along and get a fair bit of cottage cheese under the nail. 🤢

GracePooleslaugh · 09/12/2022 21:41

I soak mine overnight in Milton and sulphuric acid.

dolor · 09/12/2022 21:41

Oh god not this again

Haaaaa

DaftyLass · 09/12/2022 21:44

I do.
Partly raised by my Finnish grandmother who believed cleanliness was on par with godliness, and was drilled with the message "scrub every crease and fold" .

I couldn't agree more, facebook is there for this kind of repeated nonsense.

Are people genuinely interested in how others wash themselves? Or if they are why don't they post on the existing thread

Claudia84 · 09/12/2022 21:52

But clothes get dirty. My clothes are covering my skin. How is my skin getting dirty to a point it needs washing with soap?
I mean yes in the summer when you're sweating or lots of sun cream and skin is exposed to elements but if you've got something covering your skin for most of the day why does it need soap?
And of course I wash my clothes and towels.
There's lots of studies now about good bacteria on the skin being there that's healthy. Using soap all the time washes it all away.
Then people buy fancy probiotic sprays to put them all back.

Claudia84 · 09/12/2022 21:55

Yes @Ackity I do. I was just trying to avoid using the term 'pits and bits'!

KickHimInTheCrotch · 09/12/2022 21:56

I am definitely at the more slovenly/lazy end if the scale when it comes to washing and housework. I shower as little as I can get away with. But! I do clean my feet in the shower and in the summer they sometimes get their own little wash after DS has a bath. I walk around bare foot a lot in all weathers so they do actually get dirty.

Baconand · 09/12/2022 21:57

I do in the summer when I wear sandals. I don’t in the winter when I wear tights or socks all the time.

LaLuz7 · 09/12/2022 22:03

I do wash my feet every day in the shower with good old fashioned bar soap. Feet sweat and smell.

My legs on the other hand I only wash with soap or shower gel every few showers, mainly when i exfoliate or shave.

liveforsummer · 09/12/2022 22:05

There has been posts about this before. I'm pretty slovenly by mumsnet standards but will always give my feet a run over with soap when showering. They are in the same category as arm pits to me and need attention. Lots of people never do though and some don't wash their bodies by hand at all and just rely on running water and hair soap suds. Eye opening!

Zanatdy · 09/12/2022 22:08

Only in summer when sweaty, otherwise not seen a reason to need to and it’s hurts me personally bending right over due to a dodgy pancreas!
