AIBU to save bacon from being used by sprouts

Bacon's Christmas home is around another meat. Or at worst by itself.

It is NOT bacon's job to disguise the taste of sprouts. Bacon is not responsible for sprouts and should not be used this way. "Oh you don't like sprouts, that's simply because you haven't fried them with bacon and......"

Don't listen to the sprout industry that is all too prevalent on MN and many other places. Let bacon do what it was born to do.

To throw in an early curveball; I don’t really like bacon at all, but I do really like sprouts.

Surely bacon wrapped around virtually any other meat just makes it inedibly salty (and I also really like salt so that’s saying something for me) and overwhelms the other meat flavours?

This is ideal. Your sprouts are unsullied by bacon. And the bacon is unsullied by sprouts. Everyone round the table is happy.

I'd just ban sprouts. Have you ever been to places they're grown - vile smell over the whole countryside. People who insist on eating sprouts have no consideration for others. Cabbages don't seem to create this miasma, just have some nice savoy or cavelero Nero instead.
(I know pigs are reputed to smell, but a properly run piggery, especially with free range animals, does not taint a large area.)

YABVVU, sprouts are gorgeous with a sprinkling of crumbled bacon. Mind you, I do my Christmas sprouts with butter, black pepper, nutmeg and sliced roasted chestnuts and they are even better. The only bacon in my festive dinner is wrapped round tiny sausages.

Wash your brain out with soap, there is no such thing as too much bacon. It simply does not exist.

Sprouts, on the other hand, deserve a special place in hell.
