To think Matt Hancock should have been voted off

He broke the covid rules he helped put in place. He cheated on his wife and left his children for the OW. Why the actual fuck are people voting for this Tory to stay?

Can't stand the man. I'm a big red lefty and would much rather be 'woke' than a dozy fucker. People may well be voting for MH to piss people like me off but all it's actually doing is making me laugh at their stupidity.

Well said 👏

Trainbear · 27/11/2022 07:19

Should people whose actions offend some, be banned, censored or excluded from appearing on to in these sort of shows?
Should all those appearing undergo rigorous background checks to exclude criminal activity, morality infarctions and attracting the oppibrum of the LoudShouters.
I understand Hancock was picked for all the least pleasant challenges by the Great British Public. Gawd bless ‘em.

On the other hand, a politician being Up for It, knowing he will get a lot of grief, in an age where politicians have been murdered, stabbed and “they are all corrupt and in it for themselves, innit?” -

ExcaliburBaby · 27/11/2022 07:20

my husband couldn’t be with his dad when he died because of the rules. Or have a wake after his funeral. I’ll never forget or forgive that. And to be more bothered about someone getting the age of a child who died alone wrong; than the actual fact that a child died alone....words fail me.

Yanbu. His appearance on this moronic programme was carefully designed to rehabilitate his public reputation and judging by many of the comments on here it has worked a treat.

As someone whose life has been destroyed by long covid (April 2020 and counting...) I find this deeply offensive.

Not really sure how you can blame that on him?

balalake · 27/11/2022 07:22

The trial Mr Hancock should be undergoing is in a court of law. Corruption, corporate manslaughter, misconduct in a public office.

Not that he should be the only one in the dock.

UnicornMumcraft · 27/11/2022 07:26

Given the public inquiry into covid has yet to take place I think it’s pretty grim he’s there at all (and publishing a book). Once that’s done, sure he’s got every right to go on every dire reality show he likes, but while there are still serious questions to answer over his role and culpability in the death of thousands parading himself on national tv leaves a bad taste, and I’m sure other individuals under similar investigations wouldn’t get the gig.

As for the ‘people are voting to annoy the woke/left’, just why? Can’t get my head around people doing something for the sole motivation of annoying others, weird.

Withholdingvitalinfo · 27/11/2022 07:27

It’s awful that ppl on thread are being pedantic about the age of a child dying alone in some sort of attempt to shore up their support for an ex minister who cheated on his wife, left his three kids, oversaw the corrupt PPE contracts, and was responsible for the policy to move infected Covid patients into care homes, causing unnecessary deaths in the most vulnerable in society.

I’ve not seen an intelligent reasoned argument in his favour. Just ppl wanting to stick it to the woke, which is divisive and depressingly banal.

Matt Hancock has shown a different side to him in the jungle which is very good indeed. We should only judge him on that. Everybody has a past.

If people feel so strongly that he should be out, they are at liberty to vote a few times for others,

I think Jill will win and then it will all be irrelevant.

Only judge him on that...

Says only by someone not effected by his actions.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 27/11/2022 07:33

As someone whose life has been destroyed by long covid (April 2020 and counting...) I find this deeply offensive.

I am not a fan of the man, but I would say this kind of statement is what is pushing people to vote for him. He didn’t cause covid. The narrative on him being on the show has become hysteric.

The reaction of most of the camp mates has helped him in the same way.

Every single person on the show is there for self-serving reasons.
He’s not the only one.

VladmirsPoutine · 27/11/2022 07:37

@DrMarciaFieldstone Yes but not every single person on the show was responsible for government health policy in the height of a pandemic which claimed thousands of lives needlessly.

derxa · 27/11/2022 07:38

As someone upthread said already. Should there have been no restricitions?

Confusion101 · 27/11/2022 07:39

Going to get attacked for this but hey ho here we go...

No matter who was health Secretary those covid rules would've been brought in and broken by people. If he never broke the rules all those people who horrendously tragically died alone would still have died alone. Covid was horrendous!! My anger lies with covid itself not the absolute idiots who had to implement rules advised to them by scientists and WHO.

If I was a camp mate I would much rather MH over a person who was convicted and served time in prison for fasley imprisoning a person. Everyone has a past but I would not feel safe being near BG, especially after his blasé "well I pleaded guilty but there was no photos so did it really happen" comments about it! Ew!!!!

As a contestant matt has provided entertainment, done and won trials, with very little complaining, just got stuck in. Why shouldn't he be there?

Like I said at the beginning, I'm sure lots of people won't be happy with what I've said. I won't be responding to people attacking about my opinion!!

@user164865329

but a 13 year old has died, alone! Forget the incorrect age of a 4 or 5 year old then, but a child still has died, alone! Alone because of the rules!

Or doesn’t the 13 year old child matter? Or all the others who died alone because of the rules / guidelines?

I had a relative that died in hospital in August 2020. There were no guidelines that prevented visiting, other patients had some restrictions, but my relative who was known to be dying was always allowed visitors. Strange that this large city centre hospital did not know these “guidelines” or perhaps they are just not being accurately recalled.

MarshaBradyo · 27/11/2022 07:44

Well that’s the point of voting. The op might think he should have been voted off but more disagree so he’s still in, that’s how it goes with those shows

It didn’t happen in August 2020, it was April 2020.

Oysterbabe · 27/11/2022 07:54

People are voting based on how he's been on the show not his background. Boy George stayed in for a while despite being a convicted criminal who's served time for a violent crime.

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 07:54

did he concoct covid?
was it his doing?
er no
but those that blame him will not listen

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 07:55

and whitehall are apparently getting rid of those cameras that they used to get rid of him

The cameras that caught him breaking the guidelines and showing his wife and three kids he was cheating?

Jolly good. Hmm

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 07:59

is he the only person who has ever cheated?
i am gobsmacked

iloveyankeecandle · 27/11/2022 07:59

As the celebs in there have said, they've had to separate "Matt Hancock" with "Matt" and I think they're right. He's on an entertainment programme. He's been very entertaining

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 08:01

most of the celebs who are gone have been bitching, this is why they are gone predominantly
although baba and sean didnt bitch

A34 · 27/11/2022 08:02

"Why shouldn't he be there?"

Because he's a bloody MP, with a job. He should be working for his constituency.

Willmafrockfit · 27/11/2022 08:03

so would it have been better not to move the elderly out quickly, to free up the hospital?

Withholdingvitalinfo · 27/11/2022 08:09

Yup that’s about the level of reasoned debate I’d expect.
