To think Matt Hancock should have been voted off

He broke the covid rules he helped put in place. He cheated on his wife and left his children for the OW. Why the actual fuck are people voting for this Tory to stay?

But we dont need a full enquiry to know he gave money to his mates, millions of pounds, to a friend who could not deliver the contract. Matt hancock knew he couldn't deliver the contract and wasted millions illegally giving it to him anyway. Thats a disgrace.

He stood at that podium telling everyone to stay away from their relatives. Then he completely disregarded that himself. That is a disgrace. People missed out on last moments with their loved ones, based on his instructions, while he was cheating on his wife with his staff and breaking those rules.

If you belive the BS that this was at the time they were "following the science"
He either knew the rules were bullshit and lied to us showing us complete contempt and allowing our relatives to die alone for no good reason.

Or he believed the rules were needed and broke them anyway think he was above us and showing us contempt, and helping spread the virus.
Its one or the other and both make him a disgrace of a man. Its not tory bashing, if it was labour or lib dem running the country then I would be calling them out on it to.

It must be utterly exhausting complaining all the time but never having an alternative suggestion..

Here's a suggestion - when you're the health secretary and are faced with the (undeniably) huge task of sourcing PPE for health workers during a pandemic, don't push your pub landlord mate, with zero experience in medical supplies, to the front of the queue landing them a £40 mil contract for fuck all. Maybe entrust the task to the many companies already in existence who have expertise in such matters.

Perhaps when you're spending your days lecturing others not to 'kill granny' you should probably refrain from giving the nod to discharge infected grannies back into care homes (with no PPE, cos, y'know...pub landlord Hmm) to infect all the other grannies (and grandads!)

Oh, and when there's a cost of living crisis and your constituents are facing dire times it's probably best that you don't fuck off to Australia for a popularity contest that benefits nobody but yourself!

Sick of hearing all the excuses for these grown fucking men who skimmed millions, if not billions, out of this country. Make no mistake, covid was a gift to these people - he should be in a cell, not a campsite.

Never have I heard the same pathetic excuses for female MPs - if we keep having such low expectations for men they'll continue to meet them!

This!!

Explained perfectly.

And this too!

How can some people see passed all this I don’t know!

LBFseBrom · 28/11/2022 23:48

I fail to see how his record as a minister has anything to do with his performance on IACGMOOH. He was good on the show!

MarshaMelrose · 29/11/2022 01:23

Actually you don't know what happened until all the parties explained what happened. We don't need a full enquiry but we do need the people involved to be able to give a full, uninterrupted account of what their role was. Not a chopped up or edited version to serve a newspapers, agenda. Or a radio dj interviewer trying to be clever version. In the end it might be proven that he dId something foolish, or corrupt or just desperate. I don't know. And you don't know. Because you haven't heard the full story.

lemmein · 29/11/2022 01:54

But we do know what happened.

The contract was given to alpha Labs and the name of the sub-contractor (hinpack Ltd) was redacted from the contract - Hinpack Ltd is owned by MH's landlord.

If all was above board why the redaction? The only reason that information was omitted is because of the relationship between MH and Alex Bourne - why the secrecy if it was all above board?

I honestly can not understand how people are ok with this. These are contracts paid for by public money, yet they had to be forced in court to release them - ITS NOT THEIR CASH FFS arghhhh!

If, if, if, if.
So you clearly don't know. But after the public enquiry you will.
You know why they did those contracts. Because they were under massive pressure to get PPE.
I remember the govt been mauled by the press because a guy rang a radio station and said he'd sourced ventilators, but no one from the dept of health had got back to him and now they'd gone elsewhere. Turned out they'd been assessed and they were inadequate ventilators that the nhs wouldn't accept. Were there apologies to the govt from thise who made false accusations against them? No, of course not.
Decisions, including wrong ones, were made in times of great pressure. The enquiry will find which decisions were wrong, who did wrong and hold them accountable. Because, you know, they'll actually have the facts rather than a load of suppositions.

tiggergoesbounce · 29/11/2022 07:17

How can some people see passed all this I don’t know

Its very clear as shown on here, some people dont want to acknowledge the truth when its staring them in the face and want to try and defend his appalling action.
This is why they are not seen as credible.

They would be more credible if they acknowledged his digusting behaviour for what it was and then listed all the "good things" that he has directly done whilst in government and said they believe the good outweigh the bad. I would struggle to agree as most of what was good during the pandemic and mentioned on here was not down to him, but at least i could maybe see a point.
But to defend the long list of things he has proven to have done is a disgrace.

And of course what hes done in his work life matters, its shows his character, not what he he wants you to see for a short period of time.
Same with his personal life, of course he should be judged on that. Cheating on his wife, letting his children see him gropping her all of the press. Thats vile.
Women on here every single day tell you what men who cheats are...how is he different. Hypercrites

lemmein · 29/11/2022 08:03

You know why they did those contracts. Because they were under massive pressure to get PPE.

So you go to someone whose expertise is in PPE and medical supplies - not your mate who makes pizza boxes 🙄

SleeplessInEngland · 29/11/2022 08:07

Obviously people who like him are cretins but I admit to being curious at where he goes from here. I doubt his constituents are happy and tories will lose the next election anyway. Is he just going to make realty show appearances now forever?

It blows my mind, it really does. These people don't give a shit about their flag-waving fans; why the adulation? I wouldn't even defend my kids so vehemently if they'd done something wrong - embarrassing!

It's funny that you can't even prove someone wrong without being accused of defending Matt Hancock...

Choconut · 29/11/2022 08:34

God I think he has all the personality of the lettuce that Ant and Dec had him up against. I think he has vulnerable narc written all over him, the desperate, desperate people pleasing, having no expression/emotion on his face when people are criticising him (shut down emotions/low self esteem won't allow him to hear/process the negative), coming across as 'nice', wanting to be forgiven and look good (but not wanting to be good, just doing what he wants behind backs ie PPE/affair), cheating on wife as always desperate for attention. After 25 years experience you can spot these empty, needy, pathetic types.

I think you're projecting quite a bit there. I have a lot of those traits and I'm not a "vulnerable narc", whatever that is. The lack of expression when criticised is something I learned as a kid when my father would rant in our faces and kick off worse if we reacted 🤷

ancientgran · 29/11/2022 09:53

Lots of people supported it so not really relevant. You said he did it and he didn't. Maybe just admit you got it wrong.

Did you watch the show he was on? People who hate him watch and create more content online, plus bumping up the viewing figures. More people vote - SM, press, TV shows are happy

lemmein · 29/11/2022 10:20

@ancientgran The only reason he didn't implement it was because he was caught nobbing the help so had to resign 🙄

'Lots of people' is irrelevant - he was the health minister.

lemmein · 29/11/2022 10:22

@MarshaBradyo nope! But then, I don't watch IAC anyway and certainly wouldn't tune in just to watch him.

It’s nothing to do with it.
He was good on the show and came across as a nice bloke 🤷‍♀️

I’m actually getting concerned at the attempts and language used to dehumanise him, dehumanise tories etc.

He may have made mistakes, but he’s still a human being.

There's probably a whole study that can be done around the language of politics and how the public use different ways of talking about people on the opposing side of the political spectrum.

The difference between the centre left and centre right when talking about the other is quite eye opening.

Oh right, you're one of the MN psychic who can say what someone else would have done if things had been different. He wasn't health minister at the time, he didn't introduce that when he was health minister, he's probably the only one who knows what he'd have done, other than psychics of course.
