To be utterly fed up of covid

SingMeToSIeep · 21/11/2022 09:52

I've just tested positive for the seventh fucking time. Last time was mid September. I've had it five times this year.

I've had to cancel a hospital appointment that had been rescheduled from the last time I had it and a dentist's appointment that I'm desperate for. Also a long planned day out yesterday. Plus I feel like utter shite. Again.

Just want a moan and some sympathy really. Bastard covid.

I didn't realise people were still testing. Just treat it like any illness, if you feel ill cancel stuff and stay home, if you don't carry on as usual

Eastangular2000 · 21/11/2022 09:55

How do you know you have it? Are you constantly testing or are you feeling very unwell? Is the hospital requiring pre testing for outpatient appointments?

Summerishere123 · 21/11/2022 09:56

I've not tested since tests stopped being free.
As pp said, if you don't feel well stay home. Otherwise carry on.

Berlinlover · 21/11/2022 09:56

Get a job in a supermarket. I haven’t had as much as a sniffle in years, the same with the vast majority of my colleagues 😀

No-one should be attending hospital/dental appointments when they have Covid.

really sorry, SingMeToSIeep, hope you’re feeling much better soon.

Aprilx · 21/11/2022 09:58

Stop testing.

Stop testing.

How does that help? OP will still feel like utter shite, just means she won't know for sure whether it's covid or some other illness.

SingMeToSIeep · 21/11/2022 10:02

I can't stop testing unfortunately, I'm CEV and have to make sure I don't have covid before I inject my meds every week.

I've had the antivirals in the past but the last twice I've had it they said they've changed who is eligible, and I no longer am. So I just have to tough it out!

I am pretty sure we have covid again too, although we are on 4th round. I have run out of tests, but it is pretty obvious. I am feeling like death, and yes I am getting exasperated. Children needed nearly a week off school, I am now ill and it feels absolutely relentless. As it is not in the news no one cares.
Everything is expected to carry on regardless. I am so fed up.

So yes if you are at the point of having covid 7 times, I am with you. I worry about what it is doing to us.

Venetiaparties · 21/11/2022 10:13

Also feel like someone is literally standing on my chest and I can't catch my breath. Not fun. I had forgotten how grim it is.

Newusernameaug · 21/11/2022 10:13

Have you not realised yet that the tests have a really high false positive rate? Hence why your positive so many times!

Sugarplumfairy65 · 21/11/2022 10:16

Aprilx · 21/11/2022 09:58

Stop testing.

How will stopping testing stop the op from catching Covid?
There are cev people going to hospital appointments too you know, people with cancer and having chemo etc with no immune system . Covid isn't just a cold to them, especially if they have blood cancer. They could cope with a cold, but Covid messes with their blood and internal organs.

I'd like to read some evidence for this. Thank you.

No they don't, its false negatives that is the problem.

I'd have hoped by now people would have a better understanding of all things CV... oh well.

Phos · 21/11/2022 10:30

Get well soon.

I wonder why some people get it so much and others avoid it completely. It's so odd. Must be something genetic.

I think possibly the vaccines are exacerbating the situation. Most people I know who are triple vaxxed are suffering badly whereas for the unvaxxed it's a mild cold - mine was a headache for five days only.

Yes, some of us are testing on occasion for specific reasons or if symptomatic.

SirMingeALot · 21/11/2022 10:40

Yanbu, it sounds fucking annoying!

Giggorata · 21/11/2022 10:41

Why do you think it is propaganda?
It is well established that Covid 19 affects the circulatory system.

No, the tests have an excellent accuracy rate. Also the OP has symptoms along with the positive test.

ilovesooty · 21/11/2022 10:45

Misinformation and anti vax nonsense on the thread I see. Hope you feel better soon @SingMeToSIeep .

Wow, five days, poor you. The opposite experience here, the unvaxxed are poorlier but for some reason are keeping fairly quiet about it.

Hbh17 · 21/11/2022 10:46

For goodness sake, just stop testing & treat it like a cold!

plipplopplonk · 21/11/2022 10:46

I’ve got it for the fourth time currently. I’m off work because I feel crap but as soon as I feel well enough I’ll be back as I don’t get paid sick pay. I caught it from someone in the office who couldn’t afford to be off. We’ve already passed it onto someone else at work who is (so far) struggling on and will no doubt pass it on to someone else. It just seems never ending. Until I had covid the first time I hadn’t had a cough/cold for years and I don’t remember the common cold going round workplaces like this.
