Apparently I look like Miss Trunchbull from Matilda...

Today I was working 1-2-1 with a yr 3 child, and we were using Matilda as a base for our session. The pupil then said I looked a bit like Miss Trunchbull from the film !

Has anyone else been compared to people they would rather not be?

You should have said "Thank you... tomorrow I bring you chocolate cake and you have to eat it all. Now...where's that girl with the long platts?"

😂 to be fair (from an adult perspective) Miss Trunchbull is the best thing in the film. WHY ARE ALL THESE WOMEN MARRIED?! I also love her ‘I like a joke as much as the next fat person’ when the kids are all sniggering.

I once told an older woman, a friend of a relative, that she looked like Grotbags from children's telly in the 80s. This was profoundly complimentary, as she was my fave, but not taken as such. I was very embarrassed & couldn't explain. Scarred for life.

Absolutely! She is amazing. However it is also why I never scrape my hair up for work, and my nice tweed jacket stays in the wardrobe!

I babysat for a random family once and the little girl told me her mum said I sounded like Miss Trunchbull on the phone. I thought that was really weird and hurtful. I was in my early 20s and had (still do!) an annoyingly young and high pitched voice, and I'm friendly. Dunn what that was about. 😕

To be fair this sounds like something my kids would say. It’s highly possible the mum never said that at all and it was some random thing the kid came up with!

Frequently get told that I look like Jenny “The Vixen” from the chase.

I once got told I look like Chucky from child plays girlfriend ( Tiffany I think it is played by Jennifer tilly - I didn’t know to be offended or not!
