My meds are absolutely destroying me. It’s just… nothing left. And a friend told me that I haven’t been a good enough friend during this and I just… cannot comprehend. So I’m listening to this on replay:

Hope you other insomniacs are okay.

kittycatscollar · 17/10/2022 01:34

Can you get a medication review?

Floralnomad · 17/10/2022 01:35

I’m always awake until at least 2 am

MissConductUS · 17/10/2022 01:37

It's just 8:35 here in New York. I'm watching Supernatural on Netflix.

Geppili · 17/10/2022 01:37

I'm up because I am watching patisserie videos on youtube about how to make a red velvet cake. I am baking one tomorrow evening for my DS1's 16th birthday. Its the cream cheese icing that terrifies me. I haven't even got a spatula 🤣

Geppili · 17/10/2022 01:42

And it has scary ingredients like buttermilk, vinegar and industrial grade food colouring. It seems like alchemy. And I am gonna feed all this sugar and food colouring to 10 male teens after Pizza and after they have done two hours of Apocalypse paintballing. 😂

Geppili · 17/10/2022 01:45

Maybe we should set up a regular insomniac thread. I'll be quiet now and go back to my cream cheese frosting techniques.

DuggeeHugs · 17/10/2022 01:46

I'm trying to finish an assignment. It's the hardest study I've ever undertaken but I'm determined to get it right. I've been sleep deprived studying for the last 6 months so looking forward to the end of this in November. In November I will be sleep deprived because I'm doing relaxing stuff instead 🙃

That sounds amazing - I'm sure they'll love it!

Doing a night shift, last night then 2 weeks off.

EarringsandLipstick · 17/10/2022 01:59

Cleaning. And anxiety. (Linked)

FlorenceOrTheMachine · 17/10/2022 02:02

Spending the last time together with my beloved GSD cross. She has a malignant tumour in her nose, and despite us and her fighting hard against it the time has come. Tomorrow we must let her go. I am in bits.

Bagpuss2022 · 17/10/2022 02:04

Insomnia sadly an almost nightly Occurrence 5am this morning not uncommon to not get any sleep sadly

SufferingJet · 17/10/2022 02:05

I’m waiting to hear if my friend needs me to collect her and her daughter from a&e tonight. I dropped them off at 10pm so hoping they’ll get seen any minute now. She said she’d get a taxi home but I can’t sleep until I know they’re home.

Geppili · 17/10/2022 02:11

I send you all hugs!

Geppili · 17/10/2022 02:14

@DuggeeHugs thank you! I will try to post a photo of the cake (not the teenagers).Cake

NumptiesIncorporated · 17/10/2022 02:16

Getting ready for an early flight. Holiday time!

I hope any of you struggling to sleep massage to get done soon. I know how shit that is. I hope the meds get sorted, that birth the assignment and the cake are a triumph, that you enjoy your two weeks off, that your anxiety eases, your insomnia passes and your daughter gets home very soon.

Me too. At work

User57994 · 17/10/2022 02:22

I had my notification through at midnight that I failed my exam by a few marks so couldn't sleep. Not surprised really, I knew it hadn't gone as well as I'd hoped - it was the 6 week holidays leading up to it so kids were off, work was full on, I got covid which wiped out a week of study and my young dog got hit by a car (she's ok) so that was a week of back and forth vet visits and round the clock care.

Just have to resit on mat leave but I wanted it out of the way.

@FlorenceOrTheMachine I'm so sorry about your girl, it really is the kindest thing to do and I'm sure you've given her a lovely life. The time is getting close for our 16yo collie i think x

HighlandPony · 17/10/2022 02:23

Nightfeeds

Jackienory · 17/10/2022 02:23

Night shift, NHS, finally managed to grab something to eat.

aboutanidiot · 17/10/2022 02:24

I'm trying to make a decision whether or not to pursue something which may or may not work. My brain feels like it's going into meltdown. Sleep often eludes me. I'm also in pain and have a chest infection so am feeling rough physically. I need a hug and someone to say 'there there - it will all work out'. I'm exhausted!

b0ldasbrass · 17/10/2022 02:24

I don't ever sleep any more. My husband died in Dec of last year and I keep myself awake thinking about what could have been. Been diagnosed with insomnia but nobody will do anything about it.
