Poor little girl.x

Lu901 · 13/10/2022 19:32

It terrifies me having two young girls. Schools can be a cruel place. Back when I was a kid happy slapping was a thing. I can't imagine how bad things are now with the use of social media.

I said to my partner the other day any bullying I'll just homeschool I won't even risk it. Schools are crap at protecting children.

ArcaneWireless · 13/10/2022 19:34

Poor wee soul.

I’m glad they’ve charged someone.

However those who stood by and watched that and even worse, filmed it, deserve to be charged too.

They all should be horribly ashamed of themselves.

caramac04 · 13/10/2022 19:34

That makes me feel sick. That poor child to be beaten so callously and for others to film it for entertainment. I hope the footage is seized and all involved treated appropriately.
I’m not surprised the child is scared to leave her home. This will have a massive impact on her mental health and accessing education and social activities.

Royalbloo · 13/10/2022 19:35

Absolutely horrible

Royalbloo · 13/10/2022 19:36

Bad enough to be bullied but videos of it? No wonder so many kids have mental health issues. Disgusting.

Royalbloo · 13/10/2022 19:39

Only plus being that there is evidence of who did it.

3partypics · 13/10/2022 19:40

I cried reading this earlier, thinking how awful it must have been for the little girl and the mum getting that call!

Drumchapel is a rough area though.

SavingsThreads · 13/10/2022 19:41

I don't understand how 10 kids thought this was fine. Not like one bad apple is it

Blossomandbee · 13/10/2022 19:41

Disgusting. They need to properly prosecute the scumbags who do this regardless of age, and the parents need to be held accountable too in my opinion.

TheAntiTruss · 13/10/2022 19:43

Poor little girl. Absolutely shocking.

daretodenim · 13/10/2022 19:44

Any bystander to a person bring physically assaulted who films it and does not then go STRAIGHT to the police with the film (physically or call straight away and report their film) should be charged with something similar to aiding and abetting.

Distribution of any such a film should be handled similarly to if it was a sexual assault.

I don't know how Abby's mother copes. The rage if kids did this to my DD would be incapacitating.

lannistunut · 13/10/2022 19:45

That an incredibly sad thing to happen to that poor girl.

I fear I'll get a slating for not being vitriolic but when this happens it is a fucking tragedy all round, what a waste of your potential to be the perpetrator and what a dreadful thing to happen to the victim.

I'm so angry about everything that contributes to this, society can't stop all of it but every cut to police, youth services, schools, social services, CAMHS just means more horrible incidents.

I hope the victim is OK and well-supported and I hope they recover their confidence in time Flowers

lannistunut · 13/10/2022 19:45

I agree about the filming too, just horrible.

Worthyornot · 13/10/2022 19:47

Makes me livid to see this. And she is autistic, makes it even worse. I would personally deal with those bullies myself. Vile pieces of scum.

category12 · 13/10/2022 19:47

Bloody hell. 😔

I'm not sure I agree with the news site putting up all those pictures of her tho.

I suppose it shows the consequences of what they did to her, but it doesn't leave her with any privacy.

Gingersay · 13/10/2022 19:53

This is getting out of control in the west of Scotland there's stories like this on social media every other day. My dd1 is in second year in high school and not a day goes by without her telling me about a fight in the playground and 80% of the time it's 1-4 year girls.
This story is heartbreaking, its your worst nightmare as a mother, however hopefully it highlights this problem in Scottish High schools.

lisaJN1986 · 13/10/2022 19:55

That poor girl this is sickening.I don't care if they are 12, if a kid did this to my daughter I would rip their hair out. Then I would go for their dirtbag parent. I would happily take an assault charge.

MarshaBradyo · 13/10/2022 19:56

That is so awful

SlashBeef · 13/10/2022 20:01

I think I'd just want to die if any of my kids were involved in such a thing. Absolutely fucking feral.

Stopthebusplease · 13/10/2022 20:03

This seems to be happening all too often now. I think I saw that something similar happened in an area of Wales recently, and it got to the point where parents were having to patrol the parks to keep their kids safe. It's a horrible, scary world we live in these days.

makemeamum · 13/10/2022 20:07

This has angered me tremendously. It failed to say that the videos were put onto Snapchat. My 16 year old viewed it in Chester! Vile, scummy bullies need a taste of their own medicine

Georgeskitchen · 13/10/2022 20:14

This is the result of 40 years of nambypamby Liberal bleeding heart policies. Slowly but surely any means of authority and discipline has been taken away from teachers, police, courts and parents. Add social media and young kids with smartphones and bingo you've got the perfect storm.
anyone who didn't see this coming must have their head in a bucket of sand

HikingforScenery · 13/10/2022 20:16

there must be more than one girl! Poor little girl

Limesarebitter · 13/10/2022 20:18

This is awful, it knocks me sick that any child should have to go through that.

Very similar thing happened to DD's friend. Even with events filmed, hospital reports, several statements, the police are still unsure if a prosecution will happen.

School do little about bullying. Parents who have opted out of parenting. Police struggle to prosecute. No boundaries or punishments for these children from any direction. Makes me so angry to think that this type of thing will keep happening. Shouldn't be living in a society where children are scared and can't go out alone because of thugs.
