To think putting a spider in the kitchen bin is not a good way of disposing of a spider?!🕷

So just had a heart attack finding a largeish spider sitting on top of some rubbish in the kitchen bin 😱….

Partner was like ‘oh must be the one I put in there earlier…’

Like I’m sorry but WHAT????!

Apparently sometimes he puts spiders he finds in a box and then puts this in the bin… well this spider found it’s way out of the box and just sat there waiting to surprise me… I think I might now develop a phobia of the kitchen bin…😱

I wouldn't do it in case it escaped!!

Floomobal · 05/10/2022 19:14

It’s cruel and unnecessary when it could just be put outside

He could just put them outside?

Tbf my dad used to put them in the kitchen drawers and cupboards as he thought they were lucky - that was traumatic.

SarahAndQuack · 05/10/2022 19:18

No, that's unnecessarily cruel and disgusting. If he's ok to pick them up he could put them anywhere else.

AlsoknownasOther · 05/10/2022 19:20

I insist on them being thrown out the window. If I've caught them, I throw them and the container.

I don't think I could have lived in your house 😱😭

I make DH put them over the fence into next doors garden 😁

I've not been well and I'm really tired and I thought that spider
Emoji on the title was an ant on my phone 😂

eddiemairswife · 05/10/2022 19:28

If they are in the house they are usually house spiders, They will find their way back in. I recommend reading 'Charlotte's Web'.

girlmom21 · 05/10/2022 19:33

Why would he put a spider in the bin if it's alive?

Quick, swat that bug🤣 @verabarbleen

And yeah I would much prefer him to put them outside… I know he sometimes sucks them up the hoover which also freaks me out because I imagine them crawling out of the hoover and escaping 😮

I guess now I have to be afraid of the kitchen bin as well as the hoover 😱

Okay so who voted that I’m being unreasonable???

Im assuming somebody else puts spiders in their kitchen bin now … 😮

Why on earth would he do that? What’s his rationale?

silentpool · 05/10/2022 19:46

Take them outside. Put a glass over them, slip a bit of cardboard under the glass to prevent escape. Release outside.

Redundantmum22 · 05/10/2022 19:46

Men are hilarious 😂

orangeisthenewpuce · 05/10/2022 19:53

He should put them gently outside. Throwing them out of a window is really cruel

HollyJollyXmas57 · 05/10/2022 19:56

I don’t like to release outside incase they come back in.

I just kill them🫣

Every time you kill a spider it rains. Do you live in Manchester by any chance? 😠

When I was little I was told you shouldn’t kill a bug in case it’s a fairy in disguise 🤣

Yes - pop them outside.

I don't think he liked being in a smelly old bin.

Put DP in the bin.
