I was recently involved in a car accident where 2 cars collided where the red and blue lines cross on the attached photo.

the left lane has white arrows painted in the road indicating to go straight on and has “petrol” written underneath it. The right lane also has white arrows painted on the road with “exit” written underneath it.

who was at fault?

YABU - blue car at fault
YANBU - red car at fault

Blue cars at fault

Blue, they were turning so needed to wait until they could do so safely.

Have I understood correctly that blue car turned across red car into a no entry lane?!

I can’t see how on any interpretation red car could possibly at fault.

You obviously don't make a right hand turn from the left hand lane, especially if another car there.

I'd have thought cut and dry.

That looks like the Blue car turned into a one way road?

Blue car surely? Even if red car was in wrong lane (can't quite work out if it was) the blue car must have driven into it without even looking?

The blue car - also turning into an 'exit'

Blue. My understanding is that the car crossing the other's path does NOT have priority.

Blue car.

If I've understood correctly, I'd say blue car.

Blue, turning across path of red and it being oneway. Although physically red must have been ahead.

Blue, clearly

Blue car, of course

It's so obvious there must be a drip feed somewhere?

Blue car as it crossed the path of the red car and also looks like it is turning the wrong way into a one way 'road' (has an arrow and give way lines the full width)

Assuming your diagram is accurate then the blue car is fault. It cut across the red car's path.

Blue for turning right in the left hand lane AND attempting to go down what looks like a one way junction. Very lucky there wasn't a third car at the give way!!

lickenchugget · 29/09/2022 10:46

Clearly the blue car, why - what is the issue?

Report
HeddaGarbled · 29/09/2022 10:46

The only way I can see the driver of the red car being in anyway culpable is if they were driving at a ridiculous speed, or flashed the blue car out and then didn’t let them out or something else not obvious from the diagram.

Blue car.

Regardless of what was written on the road there was another vehicle there, it’s a no entry section, and you don’t turn right across any lane without checking it’s clear so blue car wasn’t paying attention.

How is this even a question. Someone tell blue car you can't just go driving into people if they're in the lane you want to move into, you have to wait Confused
