I was recently involved in a car accident where 2 cars collided where the red and blue lines cross on the attached photo.

the left lane has white arrows painted in the road indicating to go straight on and has “petrol” written underneath it. The right lane also has white arrows painted on the road with “exit” written underneath it.

who was at fault?

YABU - blue car at fault
YANBU - red car at fault

the allocations of the YABU and YANBU buttons make me think you're in the blue car? If so surely you can't be in any doubt its anyhting but 100% your fault?!

Please confirm you are the red car?!

Its obviously the blue car.

I'd like to know why you are even asking though as its so obvious.

Blue car

Good grief. This is almost the same scenario as my recent accident. What is it with people who think it's right to cross someone's path?

Blue is wrong obviously.

Well, the blue car, of course.

Weird question.

Anyone else hope the OP is the blue car Grin

I'd say just from your OP, probably the blue car (turning across two lanes into an exit of a one way lane) especially as it went across another car.

However it totally depends - was the red car waiting and indicating for a space, then the blue car went around and the red car suddenly started to move? Was there an obstruction ahead so the blue car had to use that entry lane rather than another? Were both cars moving? Were either indicating? Did red park up and gesture blue to go across? Loads of information can change opinions.

Is the argument for the red car that it should have been driving slowly enough to stop before it hit the blue car?

Where did red hit blue? Corner, front wing, driver's door, back seat door or rear wing?

Sadist 😂

But given the lack of info from the outset I'd bet she/he is blue 🙈

Looks like a service station car park or supermarket car park where the blue car not only cut up the red car but was also trying to go in the wrong direction round the one-way system.

Report
SlashBeef · 29/09/2022 10:51

Obviously blue.

The blue car who shouldn't have crossed lanes until it was clear it was safe to do so. Plus, it looks like they were then going to drive the wrong way up whatever road/lane they turned in to.

Who are the 3% who have voted RED? Can you vote on your own thread?

Anyone else noticed that a lot of drivers think all rules are out of the window as soon as they're in a car park?

The blue car was the only one making a manoeuvre so it can't really be the red cars fault

Please tell us, I have just wasted ages on a thread which has been removed. I cannot stand the tension.

Where did the blue car think the red car was going???.

Report
Lunar270 · 29/09/2022 10:54

Although come to think of it.....

OP, you're not the driver I posted about the other day are you? It looks like you might have changed the diagram and location to remain anonymous?

If you are then yes it was your fault.

TheTantrumoftheToddlerIsThere · 29/09/2022 10:56

Blue, and also blue was going to go the wrong way down a one way system.

Report
OneTC · 29/09/2022 10:56

Red is proceeding to exit, blue really doesn't want any petrol

Blue is at fault

Report
Explaintome · 29/09/2022 10:56

Why does anyone think it might not be the blue car's fault?

Report
fruitbrewhaha · 29/09/2022 10:56

Well as the diagram has been drawn here the blue is at fault. But perhaps the diagram isn't correct.

If the blue car was much further ahead of the red car and the red car was speeding, then maybe the red car was at fault. You do have to take it slowly in car park, people are manoeuvring. But they'd have to have been going way to fast in this instance.

Blue car at fault for the reasons already given.
