She wont last, Tory MPs wont tolerate these international embarrassments or the decimation in the polls.

By what mechanism do you see them being removed within a month, though?

I suspect you may be succumbing to wishful thinking Grin

flamingogold · 28/09/2022 12:09

Apparently some MPs have already sent in letters of no confidence. If MPs do the same to Truss as they did to Boris, she won't be able to carry on.

Hoppinggreen · 28/09/2022 12:10

It would be great but it’s not going to happen

Mydogatemypurse · 28/09/2022 12:12

It wont happen.

Itdoesntrain · 28/09/2022 12:12

I hope this is true but it's also so embarrassing that we have so many PM's!

If Sunak had the job, would we all be here shocked and appalled at his mini budget too?

😔 it's a mess either way. I've had 2 interviews cancelled due to the mini budget and 3 companies in the Business Park local to me are closing down! All announced in the last 2 days.

SleeplessInEngland · 28/09/2022 12:13

There must be a lot of tory mps who've now written off the next election entirely and can't be bothered to rock the boat.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 28/09/2022 12:13

Within the month might be a bit optimistic but I can see the vultures circling after the party conference unless she really pulls it out of the bag.

PeekAtYou · 28/09/2022 12:15

I voted YABU because Tory MPs usually go along with their leader however unreasonable they are being.
Why a month though ?

Hbh17 · 28/09/2022 12:17

Of course not. Exactly the same thing happened in the early 1980s and we went on to have an economic boom time for the rest of the decade. People really do have very short memories.

I wish people would stop repeating this. A vote can’t happen for a year.

blackpearwhitelilies · 28/09/2022 12:38

They can change the rules so that a vote could happen within a year. If she's terrible enough, they might do so.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 28/09/2022 12:40

We need an election not another round of tory parlour games where they spend weeks picking yet another useless leader.

thereisonlyoneofme · 28/09/2022 12:46

WSll they voted her in didnt they ?

Digimoor · 28/09/2022 12:47

@takliyah why can't another vote happen within a year?

Remainiac · 28/09/2022 12:51

That’s not correct. Liz could face a VONC and a leadership challenge. They don’t need to change the rules.

SleeplessInEngland · 28/09/2022 12:55

I mean it would be nice if Truss came out of the bunker and made an appearence at some point.

TooBigForMyBoots · 28/09/2022 12:55

It's going to be an interesting Conservative Party conference this year.😬😆😆😆

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 28/09/2022 12:58

it certainly will!

Redqueenheart · 28/09/2022 13:04

After today all bets are off.

The pound is crashing with no end in sight, Truss is missing in action and the bank has had to intervene.

The chancellor is toast for sure.

MPs can bring a vote of no confidence or trigger another leadership ballot. No need to change any rules.

She might cling on for a bit but the an early general election is looking more likely.

andtheweedonkey · 28/09/2022 13:05

I hope you're right...I caught myself reminiscing about Boris earlier. 🤯

I hope you're right...I caught myself reminiscing about Boris earlier. 🤯

I reminisced about Teresa May when she did her speech about the Queen and the cheese.

I keep thinking about it and thinking "awww TM and her human rights issues" 🤯 it's weird how our brains trick us into missing terrible things. 😅

JKRowlingDevilWoman · 28/09/2022 13:11

I would love to believe that she will be gone in a month. We need a general election though, not another Tory leadership contest to replace a bad egg with a dog turd.

Look how long it took to get rid of Boris, and he had broken the law. I can't see it happening. I think we will suffer two more years of this bollocks and then labour might be able to just scrape a victory.

NewbietoSE3 · 28/09/2022 13:16

Their party conference is going to be interesting!

AdInfinitum12 · 28/09/2022 13:17

I believe you can't have a VONC within 12 months for the same PM, so if Boris survived one they couldn't have another within 12 months. But you can have more than one VONC within 12 months provided they're different PM's.

CollieWobble22 · 28/09/2022 13:20

Maybe she has more self awareness than Boris (unlikely) and maybe she'll resign instead (unlikely)

I can but hope!

She must KNOW she's an idiot and that she's royally phaffed up?
