I just gave her some Corona Zero and DP hit the roof saying I'm giving her the taste for alcohol.

I'm with your husband on this

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 23/09/2022 18:48

I'm with your husband as well

WestIsWest · 23/09/2022 18:48

I don’t understand why you would and I wouldn’t be impressed if someone gave it to my 7 year old.

lisaJN1986 · 23/09/2022 18:49

Your DP is precious. I hope he toughens up in time for the teenage years 😏

VickyEadieofThigh · 23/09/2022 18:49

Very unreasonable.

girlmom21 · 23/09/2022 18:49

Did she like the taste? I can't imagine a 7 year old really 'getting a taste for beer'.

Laiste · 23/09/2022 18:49

Your 7 year old?

Why would you be giving her Corona Zero!?

JudgeRindersMinder · 23/09/2022 18:49

Why would you? Really??

Violettaa · 23/09/2022 18:50

Really? I call bullshit because no one is that stupid.

Same reason you'd buy it? Because you're an absolute heathen.

It's not even a good example of a non-alcoholic beer!

Emanresu9 · 23/09/2022 18:51

yep i'm with your husband. Why normalise alcohol consumption?

grayhairdontcare · 23/09/2022 18:51

You are a shite parent ( if this actually happened)

Which are 6 years away!! The child is 7!!
I honestly,Ty despair at how stupid some people are.

Never mind OP when your kid speaks about it at school, it’ll be picked up as a safeguarding issue and you’ll be told soon enough why it’s. A REALLY FUCKING STUPID THING TO DO.

If this is the level of parenting kids are getting now I really despair

Roselilly36 · 23/09/2022 18:51

Why would you give such a young child beer to drink even if it’s alcohol free, I just don’t get it.

TooGosh · 23/09/2022 18:52

It's not normalising alcohol consumption, it's alcohol free! I'm an alcoholic and would allow my child to try it.

Discovereads · 23/09/2022 18:52

She can’t be getting a taste for alcohol if there is no alcohol. I would be surprised if she liked it though. I would have thought alcohol free cider or champagne would be better tasting for a child.

BananaSpanner · 23/09/2022 18:52

I wouldn’t give it to mine at that age, I think it just kind of sends the wrong message. That said, it’s not that big of a deal and I’m sure I remember drinking shandy from a can as a treat on the beach in Wales when I was under 10!

NeapolitanDreams · 23/09/2022 18:52

Reverse?

ofwarren · 23/09/2022 18:52

Why would you even do that?

Jennybeans401 · 23/09/2022 18:52

This has got to be a joke, who could be that stupid?

marmaladepop · 23/09/2022 18:52

Absolutely bizarre. Why on earth would it even enter your head?

girlmom21 · 23/09/2022 18:53

TooGosh · 23/09/2022 18:52

Why not just give them some squash? That's alcohol free too.

Jennybeans401 · 23/09/2022 18:53

@Discovereads alcohol free still contains a small amount of alcohol. Why normalise it though?

Mapletreelane · 23/09/2022 18:53

If this is real then OMFG. Seriously?! Why, just why?

lennylion · 23/09/2022 18:54

JFC. Am a recovering alkie and druggie and i trace my early boozing down to my parents doing shit like this. Brandy in warm milk to help me sleep, antihistamines too. It normalises dangerous drug habits. It's extremely irresponsible imo.
