If Donald hadn’t been such a narcissist and a LOOK AT ME asshole, he could still be cheating at taxes & insurance and ripping off creditors as we speak.

Well indeed.

So Donald Trump was a crook before the election. Whodathunkit?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/12/2022 22:12

Rachel Maddow is greatly cheering, from my point of view.

There's this List in the first segment, runs from the start until 4:25 minutes in.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/12/2022 22:30

Oh, and Marjorie Taylor Green (as opposed to MTG, which is Magic The Gathering) seems to have picked a fight with Nick Fuentes, which with luck may sink her.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/12/2022 23:37

It's been a happy day in the Pond Household, that's for sure!

First this smackdown of McConnell & McCarthy from the families of officers injured/killed in the Insurrection. Rejoice with us as they walk right by them in a deliberate snub;

Then the Trump Org guilty verdicts and the possibility that they may result in Doofus himself being indicted for financial crimes.

Then Special Counsel Jack Smith has served subpoenas on State election officials in 5 states involved in 'The Big Lie'.

Today is the GA special election, polls closed about 30 minutes ago. Although I know that this race is neck and neck according to the polls, I'm still hoping for the best.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/12/2022 23:42

Forgot link on election subpoenas. My post on this was a bit inaccurate, it was top election officials in 5 counties in 4 states. This is the actual subpoena info and can serve as correction of my errors Xmas Blush :

"Subpoenas were issued to top elections officials in Wayne County, Michigan; Milwaukee and Dane counties, Wisconsin; Maricopa County, Arizona; and Allegheny County, Pa. Those counties are home to Detroit, Milwaukee, Madison, Phoenix and Pittsburgh."

I am looking forward to the potential for infighting and chaos when the Republicans start to decide whom to elect as Leader for next year. The seriously mad ones don't want McCarthy, and if they just stick to their resolve there are enough of them to stop him from getting it; after that it's a free-for-all.

I liked the recent suggestion that enough people might end up voting for a complete outsider, a Republican who didn't stand for re-election (whose name I can't remember but Trump instantly went off the deep end because he voted for the impeachments), for him to be called back just to do that job. If the Democrats get a vote as well as a largish tranche of the Republicans, it seems quite possible – and it would be very funny indeed if Gaetz and co end up causing a moderate anti-Trumper to get the job.

Fred Upton, that was it. And Trump had a nice whining rant about the possibility:

"Rep. Fred Upton, a Pro-Impeachment RINO, would be a disaster for anything having to do with the word Republican, but especially when it comes to Speaker of the House. My record on Endorsements in the General Election was 232-22, and in the Primaries was 98.6%. I would never have endorsed Upton, who quit Congress in the face of a challenge, and that’s not what Republican’s need. A very dangerous game is being played. Peace through Strength!!!"

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Looked in a mirror lately, Doofus?

When the media talk about claims by the likes of Kari Lake that the election was stolen, they always say "there is no proof of any such claims". I wish they would be more direct about it and say "There is no evidence for any of these claims".

Or even "These claims are false."

I'd settle for a simple "Well THAT's a steaming pile of bullshit".

Of course he's going to say he's sold 'millions of 'em'. It would be interesting to know the real, actual figures.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/12/2022 13:00

I do hope that if he claims to have sold millions of them at $99 each the IRS will look at him carefully about it.

lol, true. And since the Trump org just got convicted of inflating & devaluing assets according to their needs, how is he going to play the 'I made no money' card on his taxes without causing all sorts of bells and whistles to go off.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/12/2022 17:08

Meanwhile, Pence reckons they ought not to indict Trump because it's Christmas, not apparently realising that would be the best Christmas present a lot of us could get this year.

From an interview on Fox News:
"I want to tell you, I hope the Justice Department understands the magnitude of the very idea of indicting a former president of the United States," Pence remarked. "I think that would be terribly divisive in the country at a time when the American people want to see us heal. At this time of year, we're all thinking about the most important things in our lives: our faith, our family. And my hope is, the Justice Department think very carefully before proceeding."
