You guys beat me to the thread! At this point there is no independent confirmation of his statement. But then there probably wouldn't be anyway.
The way it works in these investigations is that if they feel they have 'enough' to proceed with an indictment, the subject is 'invited to present their side of the story'. If they decline, then an arrest warrant is issued. We know he was invited, we also know he declined the invitation. They also normally let the subject know the date so they can choose to 'surrender on their own'. So it stands to reason that he's been notified that he will need to either surrender voluntarily or he will be arrested on Tuesday.
What remains to be seen is whether he'll choose to surrender so he can make a big statement on the steps before entering the building or whether he'll wait and make them 'come after him' so he can make a big stink about police brutality and how disrespectfully he was treated once he's released after booking.
What I truly wish, no matter how much I'd love to see him in handcuffs*, is that the media would voluntarily do a 'blackout' on the whole thing.
*I doubt if we'd ever see that to begin with. If they arrest him he'll be escorted to some garage or back door and whisked away.
As far as trying to rile up the Deplorables, who would expect anything else from him? But if he thinks he's going to get some Jan 6 level reaction I think he is sadly mistaken.
