Bit late really as I've already bought the train tickets.... just wanted to lay some flowers, pay my respects and be a part of history..... everyone (apart from my 6 year old🥰😍) thinks I'm being stupid for going because it's going to be super busy..... I'm starting to regret my decision.....AIBU to go?🤔 ....

I considered this but seeing the queues and how busy it was today on tv we decided against it! We are in the Midlands so a bit of a trip for us! I know exactly what you mean about being part of history, that was my thinking too. DH and my mum almost talked me out of it then DC fell down the stairs at school today and hurt their ankle so I don’t think they would cope with the walking. It will be busy but I totally see why you want to go!

I'm up norf and have booked train tickets to go next week. (6 hour journey)
Taking the kids out of school for the day, much to DHs annoyance but I feel a pull to do it...

Thinking of going on Monday. Would travel into Victoria Station although presumably it will be rammed in and around.

I was in London tonight (not at Palace) and it was fairly busy in and around Victoria but not crazily so. I'm sure it will be very busy around the Palace tomorrow but if you want to go you should.

Go in at Green Park station. It's a short walk and not to busy. People are being sensible and calm.. go, it's a good vibe

Don't be ridiculous, how is it 'distasteful'?

There is often a good vibe when people come together for any occasion, even if a death is what's uniting them.

Add to that this is a huge historical occasion and people are pulling together to show their respect/affection for our longest reigning monarch and of course it's not distasteful to say there's a good vibe.
