Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,

and saw I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked,

with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King's and Queens,

are Monarch's every day.

I was
given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.

The difference is up here,

they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,

my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,

as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,

for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again,

in our Palace up above.

I saw it on Facebook and loved it but only seen hate for it on mumsnet :( I think it’s beautiful ❤️

That little poem, could get no worse
It is a puke to music verse 🤮

iamjustwinginglife · 08/09/2022 22:37

I like it-ignore others opinions if you like it that's all that matters

CruCru · 08/09/2022 22:38

It’s fine for you to like whatever it is that you like.

I think that if someone is going to write something on behalf of the Queen, the apostrophes should be used correctly.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 08/09/2022 22:38

Mawkish, badly written sentimentality. But if you like it I guess

summersun190 · 08/09/2022 22:38

It's really lovely x

nellytheelephant1980 · 08/09/2022 22:39

Oh god no 🤮

RaininSummer · 08/09/2022 22:39

Sorry but I think it's terrible.

luxxlisbon · 08/09/2022 22:39

It’s not for me.

PolkaDotMankini · 08/09/2022 22:39

It's awful. The spelling and grammar are terrible and it's maudlin, sugary rubbish.

icelolly12 · 08/09/2022 22:40

You do you. But personally I find it nauseating.

ReginaPhalangee · 08/09/2022 22:40

I've seen this shared far and wide, including by teacher colleagues... and fair play to everyone who ignored the grammar and just felt the sentiment.

*trying to do the same Wink

YourLipsMyLipsApocalypse · 08/09/2022 22:40

Word vomit. Grammatically incorrect mawkish word vomit.

Time to emigrate!

Hellocatshome · 08/09/2022 22:40

Each to their own but its not for me at all.

ContSalw · 08/09/2022 22:41

I think it's horrible.

whumpthereitis · 08/09/2022 22:42

saw someone else say in another thread that it’s all it’s missing is a bit about how she’s ‘wiv the angles’, which about sums it up. Mawkish, shite, and peak shared-on-Facebook.

userxx · 08/09/2022 22:43

If I'm honest it puke inducing.

Oysterbabe · 08/09/2022 22:43

I am a big fan of the queen and it's absolutely shite. You have zero taste.

Ihatethenewlook · 08/09/2022 22:43

Oh Jesus Christ 😂

user1474315215 · 08/09/2022 22:44

Nauseating doggerel

minou123 · 08/09/2022 22:44

If you love it, great.

But you will hear from people like me, that it is terrible. Truly awful and quite frankly, bizarre.

OneFrenchEgg · 08/09/2022 22:45

It's poetry only in the sense that it is made of words. In the same way alphabetti spaghetti is a novel.

Bretonbear · 08/09/2022 22:45

It is truly awful

whirlyswirly · 08/09/2022 22:46

It's all over my Facebook feed. It's appalling

WoolyMammoth55 · 08/09/2022 22:46

Given how private and clever and unsentimental she was, I think it's a terrible tribute. Honestly, I'm pretty sure the Queen would have hated it. She was not a sugary Hallmark kind of lady.

But I also think there are a lot of people sad tonight for complicated reasons (I shed a tear because my Granny Lillian loved the Queen, and I'd love to have given her a hug and chatted about it all, but she died herself in March so isn't here...) So I've got no problem with anyone who does like it, you take your comforts where you can when you're in grief.

I prefer The Smiths

They were born, and then they lived, and then they died
