To wash my hair in the morning?

Quick one for you all- some perspective needed here please!

DP says all women he's ever known have washed their hair at night, before bed.

I say no, done in the morning shower as always. In the evening would also mean an extra shower.

For context on my hair wash days it only adds 5 minutes onto my routine. He takes twice as long in the shower every day.

What do you all do? What's the most common thing?

YABU hair wash in the evening

YANBU hair wash in morning

Thanks for all the votes and comments 😂
He wets and blow dries his hair every day.
Mine stays dry mostly. Don't need hairdryer, just brush and put up. Very low maintenance.

I don't wash my hair every day- only once/twice a week!
And work night shifts 2 nights a week so that writes off 2 out of 7 evenings every week anyway 😂

Morning

What a weird thing to comment on.

allboysherebutme · 06/09/2022 20:00

I was my hair every evening, but would wash it in the morning too if was going somewhere. X

FourChimneys · 06/09/2022 20:04

Morning here. I doubt if DH could say whether I'm a morning or evening hair washer though, and if he could he wouldn't have an opinion.

PennyPinkPineapple · 06/09/2022 20:20

I wash mine every morning, and then sometimes again in the evening if I feel like it (don't tell my mum!)

Tiredmum100 · 06/09/2022 20:25

I wash my hair every morning. Why does it bother him?

madasawethen · 06/09/2022 20:27

What else does he complain about?

ReviewingTheSituation · 06/09/2022 20:31

Every time I have a shower (pixie cut short hair). So if I'm going to work, in the morning. If I'm WFH, then maybe lunchtime or early evening after a run.

If I'm at work/going somewhere AND running in the evening, then that will be 2 showers and 2 hair washes.

Whether it gets blow dried or not depends on where I'm going.

Chloefairydust · 06/09/2022 20:32

I would say whatever time you choose to wash your hair is up to you… It’s your hair. Your not being unreasonable at all.

sundayvibeswig22 · 06/09/2022 20:40

I wash mine in the evening. I also shower every evening instead of the morning as I sweat more if I shower in the morning. My deodorant works better if I put it on at night. My hair is also long and thick and is better styled after it's settled!

ElspethTascioni · 06/09/2022 20:41

Who gives a crap?!

optimistic40 · 06/09/2022 23:18

Morning when I had more "styled" hair (was a layered bob that looked shite without being styled). Now it's long and just whenever - morning, evening, whenever

Ki44 · 07/09/2022 01:02

@BEAM123 argh the dreaded flannel wash on a cold winter morning.....yes I was subjected to them at times too, but only when needed! Brrrrr! Makes me cold thinking about it :-) haha.

Thatswhyimacat · 07/09/2022 01:12

I wash it in the evening, when I shower after the gym. It takes ages to dry and I value my lie in too much.

MidnightMeltdown · 07/09/2022 01:22

Evening for me because:

a) my hair is long and thick and takes a long time to dry, even with a hairdryer

b) I am not a morning person and I don't want to get up earlier than I have to

c) it looks fluffy after it's just been washed

At the weekend I might wash it in the morning, but usually it's evening. I would have to get up about an hour earlier to wash it in the morning. No thanks!

urghnotthisagain · 07/09/2022 01:27

I'm just EXTREMELY jealous that your hair wash only adds five minutes to your routine!!

Washing and drying my hair is a good 45mins-1 hour process and if I had to factor that in plus styling it, I'd have to wake up so early

TiaraBoo · 07/09/2022 01:29

Morning for me.

Fishpawsandchips · 07/09/2022 01:33

Why does he even have an opinion on this?

Musti · 07/09/2022 01:44

I wash my hair once a week or so.. daytime usually

HoppingPavlova · 07/09/2022 02:49

Morning.

DH and I have been together roughly three decades and I’m sure if someone asked him when I wash my hair he would draw a blank.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/09/2022 04:11

I can't function without a shower in the morning. I'd have terrible bed hair if I washed it at night!

This!

while true you also need to compromise when living with others especially (don’t know if it’s ops situation) when there is a single bathroom in the building. If others also have to get ready in the morning brush teeth etc then everyone needs to be mindful of blocking that space

She said it only takes an extra 5 minutes! She can get up 5 minutes earlier if it's really time sensitive.

Shadowboy · 07/09/2022 06:12

I shower every evening and hair wash every other day. Hairdresser said it was bad to wash sailer as it dries it out.
