I'm on holiday at seaside resort there are 2p machines that you get tickets to exchange for prizes
There is dh 31 me 30 ds 11 and dd4 how would u split the tickets for prizes

OP posts:
Amandasummers · 30/08/2022 16:38

Well the adults need to get a grip....just split between the 2 kids surely

Coka · 30/08/2022 16:38

Half for each child.

TokyoSushi · 30/08/2022 16:39

Between the DC obvs. If the older DC had a big part in winning them, maybe they get a few more.

Hugasauras · 30/08/2022 16:39

I don't really understand. How many tickets are there? Presumably the prizes are all just cheap tat so I'd just split it between the two kids if there was enough for multiple items of tat. Why would an adult want some knock-off Minion cuddly toy?

MajorCarolDanvers · 30/08/2022 16:41

50/50 each child

Countingdowntodecember · 30/08/2022 16:41

I’d say that the children keep the tickets they win themselves and the adults split their tickets equally between the two children (unless you’re desperate for some plastic tat yourself? Wink).

IncompleteSenten · 30/08/2022 16:41

Half each for the kids.

Unless the prizes are booze.

Sunnyqueen · 30/08/2022 16:42

50 50 between the 2 kids obviously

Whodoiwanttobe · 30/08/2022 16:42

Have you seen the crap you can get with them? I assume you and your DH won’t want the tat? What a weird question!!

PonyTime · 30/08/2022 16:42

You're not all holding each 2p and putting it in

So it's tickets per person who won them surely?

kitcat15 · 30/08/2022 16:42

50/50 the kids....obviously....unless the adults are very selfish

Lindy2 · 30/08/2022 16:42

We always share them equally between the 2 kids. They then spend an absolute age choosing plastic tat that obviously actually costs just a tiny fraction of the money spent collecting the tickets.

Why would any adult want to be part of that madness.

luxxlisbon · 30/08/2022 16:42

I’ve honestly no idea why this is a question you have to ask the internet or the relevance of your own/your husband’s age.

pilates · 30/08/2022 16:44

Jeez this can’t be for real 😧
The children of course and don’t get too excited about the gifts.

Whaleandsnail6 · 30/08/2022 16:54

Kids keep the tickets they each win. Adults split any of the tickets they get 50/50 between each of the kids.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/08/2022 16:55

50/50 ish, if there's on a few just get the sweets

SleepingStandingUp · 30/08/2022 16:56

PonyTime · 30/08/2022 16:42

You're not all holding each 2p and putting it in

So it's tickets per person who won them surely?

So you'd insist on having your 50 tokens which will just get you say sweets rather than give them to your child so they can get a slightly better prize??

Quartz2208 · 30/08/2022 16:57

Between the children?

THen it depends - often DD would want something more expensive and DS would just want sweets! So she would get the bulk but both were happy!

So either that or split in half

Ineedsleepandcoffee · 30/08/2022 16:57

Kids get the tickets they win themselves, the tickets won by adults get split 50:50 between kids

PonyTime · 30/08/2022 16:59

@SleepingStandingUp

Damn right I would, arcade maoams are great.

I'm not a let them win kind of parent though

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 30/08/2022 16:59

I assume the children did not contribute financially to getting the tickets so unless they can demonstrate that their labour was critical in ticket collection then they should get nothing.

I say let the adults should be free to collect their fidget spinners and pop-its using all the tickets. Maybe the children could spend the last 5 on the haribos those amusement places always have. This will teach them a valuable lesson about capitalism and the value of their labour. It might even encourage them to join a union layer in life.

Enjoy your holiday.

drunktrifle · 30/08/2022 17:00

Surely you either exchange 4 million tickets for the tiny 10p bag of haribo and share them between the children or give the tickets to some other child and buy your kids hot donuts instead.

ClocksGoingBackwards · 30/08/2022 17:02

Everyone started off with the same amount of money and keeps the tickets they win. The grown ups act like grown ups and share theirs equally between their children, or use them to pacify one child if they didn’t win any tickets when their sibling won loads.

superram · 30/08/2022 17:02

Put all tickets in the machine together or it’s a nightmare. See how many you have. Nominally give half to each child with room for negotiation over various bits of tat. Leftovers ‘tickets’ buy sweets such as fruit salad for all to eat.

JustLyra · 30/08/2022 17:02

Depends how much you play. When we go I either do - kids keep their own and mine are split between the kids. Or if I have a lot (which sometimes happens as my respite is in the arcade usually - I love the mind numbing ness of it) I’ll use them to get something they can all share - we got a card game last time that they loved and once before a big bag of sweets which I hid until a long train journey home.
