To give my 18 month old Macdonalds?

Benji4ever · 20/08/2022 11:42

Twice a month I take my two DS swimming all afternoon. On way home we get a drive through Macdonalds

The 3 year old has a happy meal. The 18 month old has a few of the chips. That's it.

I saw a mum give me one of those looks as I took some chips from the happy meal and gave them to the little one.

Is this awful? Its only twice a month and only a few chips. Also the 18 month old drink diluted squash regularly.

Aibu to think in the grand scheme of things its not that bad?

"i suspect your substandard parenting wil come back to ‘bite’ you…..
OP asked whether feeding her 10mo old Mac Donald’s is a good idea and it’s obviously not.
But lots of people don’t parent well*

@underneaththeash I didn't say anything about a 10 month old.

@underneaththeash I didn't say anything about a 10 month old.

She's substandard at reading and comprehension, just ignore her!

And she feeds her children tooth rotting raisins a lot!

So ignorant!

You're doing fine OP!

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 22:05

No mine are older too. Raisins are fine. It’s a parenting forum and you giving poor advice isn’t helpful to anyone.

Your reading comprehension is terrible. OPs child is 18 months

My children are 15 and 18 and doing just fine thanks 😊

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 22:06

And the OP posted about a 10 month old / read the thread dear.

And you being judgemental is vile!

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 22:07

The op was asking for an opinion you silly woman. That is the point of a parenting forum.

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 22:08

Small children never need to eat McDonalds.

Even the thread title says 18 months
Maybe you need to put your specs on dear

Go back and read the OP very slowly, when you've read it, go back again, keep reading it until you see 18 month old.

Then come back and apologise for your lack of reading skills, blindness to the truth and being judgemental!

Never mind children not eating McDonald's (spelt correctly) you need a lot less wine on a Saturday evening.

Not parent of the year are you?

During less wine, be less angry!

Benji4ever · 20/08/2022 22:12

@underneaththeash Where do I mention a 10 month old?

My post talked about my 2 DC that are 3 years old and 18 months.

I also mention my 10 YEAR GODSON who is overweight at one point in the thread.

That's it.

I promise you my kids are 3 years and 18 months.

When the 18 month old was 10 months old I was feeding him turkey twizzlers and cocaine mind you.

I couldn't give a toss. There are actual real issues in this world this unimpressed energy could be spent on.

You spend time taking two young children swimming. You visit parenting forums. A look from another parent gives you pause for reflection, enough to get other views. You are fine. More than fine.

Rachie1973 · 20/08/2022 22:13

Mine love a McDonalds, and a fruit shoot.

I just don’t worry about things. Everything in moderation in our house.

I find they eat better if you dilute the crack with Coca Cola :)

She's drunk, argumentative and nasty is my guess! Can't even read the title or OP.

Ignore her and her raisin munching diet.

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 21:26

Why though? It takes a few minutes to make up a sandwich a packet of raisins/breadsticks and some fruit.
Possibly that’s why everyone is so fat in the U.K.?

Everyone is fat? Really? I’m not. And neither are my kids who probably have McDonalds a couple of times a month.

Why not - because she doesn’t want to. Duh

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 20/08/2022 22:19

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL · 20/08/2022 21:28

@underneaththeash raisins?

Everyone is so flat in the uk? Everyone?

Apart from your raisin eating family obviously!

I love it when people hark about how healthy they are then mention something that has high sugar content

OP’s child is 18mo.

Yes some people don’t parent well at all - those people are NOT the FT working single mums who treat their kids to a McDonald’s after swimming now and again.

W shit parents are the ones who pass on food complexes to their kids and withhold treats under some crusade of healthy eating.

Raisins are very high in sugar, there’s other fruits you could feed them. Why don’t you know this? Is it because you’re a shit parent?

Small children never need to eat McDonalds.

Small children don’t need to do a lot of things but sometimes it’s nice to let them anyway. Unless you a total fun sponge parent

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL · 20/08/2022 22:45

@LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet I'm not convinced that @underneaththeash will be back....

Thank fuck!

I hate McDonalds. Disgusting place. We live near a farm, where they have separated the calves from their mothers because of a shortage of feed (due to the hot summer). They moaned and howled for their mothers all night and all morning. And I mean non-stop.I loathe McDonalds and the entire meat industry.
