chipsandpeas · 20/08/2022 08:28

ive bought a few things through it and didnt have any issues

Readinginthesun · 20/08/2022 08:29

I have both bought and sold several items . Absolutely no problem.

MandrakesMum · 20/08/2022 08:29

Yes!!
Filter by size and the condition you want so you don't end up searching through loads of stuff that you don't want. I've had loads of bargains and it's enabled me to have a lovely wardrobe amidst the rising prices of everything else.
I wouldnt use it to buy expensive electrical items or expensive designer clothes, but for good quality second hand items it's great.

KatherineofGaunt · 20/08/2022 08:35

I only sell on there (I need the cash for things other than clothes atm) and it's very easy. A bit time consuming to get everything listed but at least it's quite straightforward on your phone and once you do it right it's easy for people to find what you're selling.

DiscoStusMoonboots · 20/08/2022 08:37

Love it. I've set up alerts for lots of 90s labels (think Kookai, St Michael). My wardrobe is thriving and there's still a few pennies left in my bank account. Big fan!

Whattodoaboutworknow · 20/08/2022 08:40

It’s one of those companies where is AMAZING when things go right and SHITE when things don’t.

I’ve done about 30 sales and 30 purchases. Saved loads on toddler clothes and made money back to buy more. BUT not all users are good or experienced. I’ve had a bad week on there lately, one seller didn’t post and ignored me, one item lost with Royal Mail.

Its got awful TrustPilot reviews but my advice is to only buy off users with 5 star reviews and quite a lot of reviews.

Irritatedmum · 20/08/2022 08:43

I downloaded it a couple of days ago and was quite excited to buy but 1) I messaged someone about something and haven’t had a reply and 2) I favourited a few things so I could compare them and I’ve had a barrage of ‘are you interested’ messages. It’s put me off a little.

Ilovemycatalot · 20/08/2022 08:51

I have got an account with vinted but not to happy atm as they keep taking random amounts of 10p from my account. I know it’s pennies but this is not refunded and when reading up they claim it’s to verify you have an active account and they refund it immediately which they haven’t done to me. Never had this before anyone know anymore about it?

mycatisannoying · 20/08/2022 08:54

I've only used it to buy. I love, love, LOVE Vinted!

underneaththeash · 20/08/2022 09:06

I use it to sell quite a bit and not had many issues - I'd agree with a few of the trust pilot reviews that the customer service centre is awful - they really are. But on the whole it's good.

I only use Evri or Inpost to send things as the post office isn't convenient and the Yodel places incompetent, which I don't think it very popular.

But on the whole, so much better than eBay

MaryGubbins · 20/08/2022 09:12

I’ve sold 2 things this week. I’ve also got an item which people have favourited 70 odd times but hasn’t shifted. Do I need to message each person to offer a few quid off?

Also can you set your delivery preferences?

I’m £50 up on stuff that I don’t think would have eBayed well but obviously stuff to learn.

MissBPotter · 20/08/2022 09:15

Yes I love it! Have bought nicer labels than I can afford new via Vinted. Also like that it’s helping the environment in a way. Plus it’s dead easy to sell and buy.

Noix · 20/08/2022 09:35

Got very nice baby things.

However, right after signing up, my scam/phishing phone calls went through the roof so I'm using single use debit cards (revolut) only.

Tempted to sell as I've got loads to go to charity otherwise but because of this concern about data protection, I won't. Their seller's verification process is collecting personal data and ID information that would allow full on identity theft if breached or sold.

Nuisancepenguin · 20/08/2022 09:45

I’ve bought some nice things, apart from one item where the seller insisted it was unworn, but when it arrived it had holes and looked like a rag! After some back and forth I managed to get most of the money back. Oh, I also had a seller trying to charge me extra postage after I’d paid her because she had under estimated the cost. She’d already posted the item so it was too late.

Sold a few bits on there, but won’t do it again as I had massively low offers coming in or what I regard as silly questions - such as “Will this size 16 top fit a size 10?” Or “If I buy this today will Royal Mail deliver it tomorrow?”. Also had lots of people wanting to reserve things and then not buying. I ended up selling everything on eBay and it was more straight forward.

megletthesecond · 20/08/2022 09:49

I've sold my first two items this week. No issues so far.
It's much easier than ebay (which I used to be really good at).

GodisaBC · 20/08/2022 09:55

I love it, I only sell but it’s so easy and things just sit there until they sell.
I don’t seem to be able to shift baby things though. Got a pair of baby gap shorts and a monsoon top on there and no views at all.
listed 2 things on eBay which would have definitely sold a few years ago and nothing.

BigDayToday · 20/08/2022 09:58

I've used it loads and had some great bargains. However, I've noticed that more of the spammy/scammy sort of 'business' sellers seem to be popping up on there lately. Spamming keywords and brands to manipulate the search and not allowing returns (UK law says business sellers have to allow returns on online sales). Fwiw, I don't generally expect to return items on Vinted and the private sellers I've bought from have been fantastic, almost without exception, but these crappy sellers have made Depop almost unusable so I'm really hoping Vinted doesn't go the same way.

DuneFan · 20/08/2022 10:15

I've bought a few toddler clothes and sold a few.

BNWT stuff sells immediately, good brands like Frugi fairly quickly. The ervi drop off place is a few doors down from home so posting is no hassle for me. I am £75 up on stuff that I would otherwise have put on freecycle.

I wouldn't buy designer though- too much fraud risk for me.

Badgirlriri · 20/08/2022 10:18

Love to sell and buy on Vinted. Way better than eBay.

RaininginDarling · 20/08/2022 10:27

I've not used Vinted but I'd like to know why it's better than ebay?

DanceWithYourBalloon · 20/08/2022 10:37

I've only sold a couple of things but I have got some very good maternity wear off there recently.
I also found a lovely black wool winter coat in near perfect condition at a bargain price.

DessicatedWithering · 20/08/2022 10:47

I've bought stuff this week but no one seems to be in a rush to post it.

mac1974 · 20/08/2022 10:54

I love Vinted to buy and sell. I've made a few hundred pounds on it
@DanceWithYourBalloon the main benefit I find is that the buyers pay the fees & postage as part of their purchase so you actually get the price you want whereas eBay always takes large fees ime

Cantanka · 20/08/2022 10:58

RaininginDarling · 20/08/2022 10:27

I've not used Vinted but I'd like to know why it's better than ebay?

I find it easier to filter what I want to see so the results are relevant to me

FreyaStorm · 20/08/2022 11:00

I just got scammed on it. Bought a breast pump for £60 and received a piece of cardboard in a plastic envelope.
