Ugh. Just had my first bad experience. Someone complaining about a £5 dress. I've just issue a refund. I should have know. She was picky when she was asking questions.

Zara kids clothes seem to sell well.

I buy alot of my toddlers clothes from Vinted, mostly Zara, if it’s in very good condition (not faded or stained!) it usually sells quickly. I won’t pay anymore then £3.00 though.

Another tip that might be helpful to anyone new using Vinted - before you buy something from someone, check when they were last active on vinted.
I made the mistake early on of buying something from someone who didn’t send the item or reply to messages etc - when I checked their feedback, it had about 4 recent automatic 1 star reviews saying the sale was cancelled. Their overall rating was still high so I didn’t check individual feedback. When I looked at the last time they were active on Vinted, it said 3 months ago!

I’ve had some great buys - new Reiss dresses for 10 pounds, a beautiful evening dress with tags for a fiver, a really flattering jumpsuit in multiple colours for the cost of one. I stick to sellers with good reviews and wouldn’t buy anything too pricey but so far I’m impressed.

I haven’t sold though, I struggle to get to the post office regularly so wouldn’t want to annoy anyone with slow postage!

MissBPotter · 25/08/2022 19:26

@Salacia not sure if this helps but you don’t need to use the post office (I have switched this option off as they’re awful in my opinion). I go to my local newsagents usually or many supermarkets have lockers you can use.

labazslovesliving · 25/08/2022 19:40

easy to buy and sell i keep my money in it then I can treat myself

catfunk · 25/08/2022 19:44

Love it. I realised the other day most of my outfit was from vinted! Black Birkenstocks, hush jumpsuit, gap denim jacket and cos handbag. All items that id wanted for ages and paid about 1/3 of retail price for.

tillyandmilly · 25/08/2022 19:49

Hopefully more people will move away from eBay with their extortionate seller fees! Vinted is really good for bargains - just hope greedy people won’t be putting ridiculous prices on their items on Vinted like eBay!

WorstBJever · 25/08/2022 19:54

@MaryGubbins if you edit your listing and reduce the price, everyone who has favourited it will get a notification-you don't have to message everyone individually

lugeforlife · 25/08/2022 20:01

When you buy/sell, how long does it take to show delivery in the app? I sold a few things which I posted on Monday plus bought something which arrived today but nothing has popped up in my app to get me to say my purchase is ok.

I have favourited a couple of things which I don't want to buy until I have a balance so keen to get a couple of things under my belt...

I find vinted great

Especially for kids and baby clothes

Givemeabreak2 · 25/08/2022 20:06

I've only recently started selling and mostly had good experiences. Although I've had one issue where the buyer said the item wasn't in the bundle when it definitely was. I offered to buy one of their items to make up the £2 but they said no so not sure if they were genuine or not.

Also yodel ended up delivering a parcel that wasn't what I sent and you could see in the proof of postage the label had been ripped off and put on another. Still hasn't been resolved.

Overall though I would recommend it.

DessicatedWithering · 25/08/2022 20:07

My Evri guy came to deliver a parcel today - and happily took my parcel that I was about to schlep up to the parcel shop. Apparently if they are at an address anyway to deliver then they can collect anything you have. Which works well as I'm buying and selling at the moment.

housepilot · 25/08/2022 21:31

Yes. It's so easy to use for buying and selling. I much, much prefer it to eBay.

RaininginDarling · 27/08/2022 11:16

Read this thread and decided to join Vinted out of curiosity. Bought two items. One on its way, the other was refunded with an apologetic message from the seller saying they had donated the item to charity (it had been on for awhile). Anyway, that item is still on the site - but now at twice the price.

Other similar items are all from accounts that look suspicious (no other items to sell, odd handles/avatars and no track record)

It's put me off the site, to be honest.

Heatherbell1978 · 27/08/2022 11:24

I'm a big buyer and seller but pretty much all kids clothes. I've sold some of my stuff successfully but less luck with buying. Its amazing.

I buy nice kids brands (Joules, Next, Boden mainly) at a huge discount and those tend to be the kind of clothes I sell.

You need to be prepared to sell quite cheaply as the buyer will also need to add around £3 postage and I know I take that into account when I buy. I've only had one annoying buyer who left me a bad review after the £6 bikini I sold her (originally a £40 Joules one) had a bit of undone stitching which I called out in the post. She made herself look a bit daft in my opinion as people can see the chat.

Make sure you filter well so just see what you want.

NeedNotWantNot · 27/08/2022 11:25

I used to be an ebayer. Now I prefer Vinted because fees are lower. I wish people would put up more measurements in descriptions because of differences in sizing between different brands over the years. But people have been really friendly when I ask for particular measurements.
