Do you find it good

I've been using it to buy and sell and have only had positive experiences, I brought a couple of thing that arrived clearly used and grubby where listed as new but I just clicked the button saying I had a issue, uploaded a picture and vinted refunded me within minutes

Did you not have to send the item back? I haven’t needed to return anything yet but wouldn’t you need to return the item before a refund (like eBay?)

Do you search for brands you like? I'm not sure you could just open it up and find something. It lets you follow brands and filter your sizes so it shows you a more curated selection.

Thank you
I probably need to spend some more time looking at it in more depth.
When I just did it by size there was a real load of rubbish

ClingyClingy · 20/08/2022 14:06

Just a word of warning as a seller

Myself and a few others (there a couple of threads) have had issues with money not being deposited into our bank accounts

One MN user is owed £400, I'm owed £150.

Customer services chat is useless and I've even written to the CEO but just been told its being looked into-no sign of my actual money

Apparently this is happening due to issues with their payment platform mangopay. So I advise sellers to take money out as you go, don't let it build up into large amounts as that seems to be when issues occur

It's a bummer as it's a great site otherwise!!

I love buying on vinted, often get good toddler bundles for my son. I recently got a lovely pair of new north face shorts for my husband for a bargain price of £7. Was made up!
I like to get tops for myself for work and like the fact you can select - size, label, colour etc.... It can be quite dangerous though as you can spend ages looking!

I haven't sold anything yet, used to sell on eBay before they got rid of the whole pay pal payment. To the sellers on vinted - how does it work with the postage and labelling? I know that the buyer pays for it beforehand but I'm unsure on the process. I also don't have a printer so not 100% sure how I'd get the label on for evri. I used to write everything with eBay. Thanks

BellaCiao1 · 20/08/2022 15:02

@ChickenNugget86

When creating your listing you select a parcel size from a list they give you (they give you a recommendation of what to choose based on what previous sellers choose). When a buyer purchases they pay the postage and you get sent a shipping label. Evri I think you have to print but Yodel sends you a bar code and all you have to do is scan at the drop off - the cashier fixes the address label

megletthesecond · 20/08/2022 15:23

chicken I post with yodel (corner shop) and they even print the address label for me. I just have to show them the confirmation bar code.

tripledecker · 20/08/2022 15:29

You can switch off certain couriers if any aren’t good such as Evri for printing or if they’re too far away.

BillCar · 20/08/2022 17:57

Most Evri drop off points have a printer so you just scan the QR code from the email Vinted send and you print the label yourself in store - if you google a list of local Evri drop off points, it'll tell you which have a printer

ChickenNugget86 · 20/08/2022 19:01

Thank you everyone, that's very helpful. Next time I visit my local shop I'll see if they have a machine. I've not really noticed it before as I normally buy!
Got some plus size clothes to sell due to weight loss and from my experience they usually sell well

Titsflyingsouth · 21/08/2022 13:15

I love Vinted and both buy and sell from there. Find it much less hassle than Ebay. I hate the auction option on Ebay, found Ebay constantly nagging me to reduce the price and obviously there's fee etc. The app interface on Vinted feels more user-friendly too.

A couple of words of caution - Vinted tends to under-estimate Royal Mail postage and I've been stung a couple of times where buyers have been charged extra postage and I've had to compensate them. Also some sellers sell stuff that's 'new with tags' but turns out to be 'second stick' from shops that has holes/marks etc. Once you have received your item you have 48 hours to flag a concern with Vinted and claim a refund. So check items promptly.

MrsTimRiggins · 21/08/2022 13:20

I buy and sell on there, mostly sell really. I’m about £250 up in a couple of months. It does take time to upload and their system is a little clunky to do so but it’s all just stuff I had by me anyway so money for nothing really!

Sleepyquest · 21/08/2022 13:26

Bought loads and sold loads. Absolutely love it! I've bought stuff on there for my baby and then resold it on there so I'm practically renting it. If I like something in Next, I always check Vinted first as I'd rather buy secondhand and save money

Suckitupboyo · 21/08/2022 15:26

I sell lots on Vinted ( kids clothing, decent brands ) Much better than eBay imo. I've just got a fast shipper tag too - maybe something to look for if you've been kept waiting before ??

loseridiot · 21/08/2022 22:07

I've just signed up and bought a dress. The payment keeps failing so told the buyer and emailed Vinted. Not a good start. Never had this with Ebay. Don't think I'll use them again.

GodisaBC · 21/08/2022 22:08

Suckitupboyo what childrens brands do you sell? I’m struggling to sell mine.
I always post my things the day after, hope I get a faster shipping tag soon.

Mollyplop999 · 21/08/2022 22:10

I was scammed out of £50 for a pair of headphones. Received a paper plate. Stupidly didn't notice that they had no reviews. Other than that I've bought loads of clothes successfully.

Porridgeislife · 21/08/2022 22:18

Only used to buy but around 50% of what I’ve bought so far hasn’t been posted so the order gets cancelled. No idea why sellers bother if they have no intention of following through with the sake. Much prefer eBay.

tallulahtiger · 21/08/2022 22:22

I buy things on it and would like to sell but I don't have a printer to print off the courier labels and they can get really funny about it as it's all tracked.

I think I heard there are options to turn this off and just use Royal Mail but apparently that puts people off buying from you.

whatsthecraic91 · 21/08/2022 22:31

Absolutely love vinted!! I sell all of my DS & DD baby clothes and use the money in my vinted account to buy them more clothes. So it feels like it doesn't cost me anything!

Sandcastlesinthesky · 21/08/2022 22:33

So far it’s been really good. I’ve sold about 15 items that I would have sent to the charity shop. Bought one coat for my toddler and very pleased with it

Mrsmch123 · 21/08/2022 22:33

I made £200 selling my babies clothes on it. From 3 to 12 months. With a few holiday bits of mine thrown in.

GodisaBC · 22/08/2022 12:08

What brands of baby clothes sell well?

Frugi seems to go quickly and for higher prices than a lot of others

GodisaBC · 22/08/2022 19:46

Yes that was mentioned, just wondered what others do? I’ve got monsoon and baby gap and no interest. Thought it could be my description or price maybe.
